Sample letter for above action item at comment #44
Keep exposing this woman... people need to know who she is, because the media sure won't tell 'em!
Now you are talking!
Defeating Pelosi is the only thing Democrats understand.
Urge Arnold to help campaign and raise funds for DePalma, to help her defeat Pelosi.
Wouldn't that be something?
"Urge Arnold to help campaign and raise funds for DePalma, to help her defeat Pelosi."
Is she a Republican? You don't really think a Republican has a chance at getting elected in SF, do you?
I can appreciate what you're trying to do, but the 8th CD is all in SF, a town that gave Pelosi 80% of its vote in 2002. That was in a field of 4 or 5 opponents, the closest one getting only 12% of the vote. DePalma is a wonderful lady, but she is anathema to everything SF (unfortunately) stands for. She doesn't have a chance against a communist like Pelosi.
Attractive candidate, in more ways than one!
Bingo! Better to pull resources (and Arnold's help) towards defeating Boxer in the Senate race.
She is a Republican and from her photo on her web page, she is far better looking than that Mud-face, sexually deprived, ugly traitor Pisslosi.
But you're right...a Republican in SF actually making it!!???
That said, Dan Rostenkowski was defeated once in 1994. It's not impossible.
Hmmm... she is kinda cute, isn't she?
We should at least help her by supplying her with ammo... because she's in the best position to use it.
As was ex-speaker Foley in Washington. It can be done -- it is a matter of just not throwing our hands up and accepting defeat.
At least we try to make a race out of it -- even if it is a 10-15 point race.
That's right. Political time and money are scarce commodities and should be allocated by looking at the big picture, carefully prioritizing, and playing the odds intelligently. Defeating Boxer is a good priority, a do-able goal. So is defeating Daschle by supporting Thune.
Anybody, even a RINO, would be better than Pelosi.
No Botox needed here...
In the 2003 special election, district 8 voted 80% "no" on Gray Davis' recall from office. Only 18% of the district's vote went to Arnold. In the 2000 general election, the district voted 77% Gore to 14% Bush. They just elected themselves a mayor whose first official act was to hand out homo marriage licenses -- against state law.
And you're talking a 10-15 point spread on a race between Pelosi and a true conservative like DePalma?
The only thing that is going to defeat Pelosi is if some of her ideas actually get enacted.
Giving her a few handfulls of mud to sling at Botox Brezhnev costs us nothing -- and can only help.
Just give her what we have.
