Previously secret sworn statements by detainees at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq describe in raw detail abuse that goes well beyond what has been made public, adding allegations of prisoners being ridden like animals, sexually fondled by female soldiers and forced to retrieve their food from toilets.
The fresh allegations of prison abuse are contained in statements taken from 13 detainees shortly after a soldier reported the incidents to military investigators in mid-January. The detainees said they were savagely beaten and repeatedly humiliated sexually by American soldiers working on the night shift at Tier 1A in Abu Ghraib during the holy month of Ramadan, according to copies of the statements obtained by The Washington Post.

Baghdad babes just want to have fun.
Yawn....
"Killer Asteroid heading for earth". "But first a breaking stories about the panty headware."
Doesnt bother me....
I can only conclude that the mainstream media actually want us to lose this war. I know that gets said around here a lot and you might being say, "No duh!". But think about that for a second. They actually want us to lose. Let that sink in.
Beating a dead horse! Give it up already!!
Something like "biased@biased.com" and "biased"?
Are you sick of this story yet? The unbiased media is going to keep it up until you puke.
The details aren't NEW, WP!!! The abuse stopped LAST YEAR and the investigation into it ended in FEBRUARY!
It's not NEW at all...
I'd bet if you asked 1000 random people in this country this question, "When were the pictures taken at Abu Grhaib?", 950 of them would say "4 weeks ago".
The dems/libs are dribbling this out a bit at a time. So far, they've gotten about 3 solid weeks of play, and it looks like they are trying for 4.
Many call it strategery, but if GWB doesn't get his PR team off their rears and out on the media (airwaves and print), GWB is not going to see a second term. Even Bill Sammons in an interview yesterday said GWB is in PR trouble. Someone needs to wake the WH up. Seeing GWB out fundraising while Washington is in scandal meltdown does not exude confidence in the President. Without countering all these PR problems, they are slowing sinking into peoples' minds.
these are terrorists, they deserve to be humiliated and more.
msnbc is running this 24-7 today. They are showing the "leaked" photos and a video, also. Even tho they are admitting that they don't show anything "new", in their quest to get the higher ups, they said that (their favorite line coming up) it leaves more questions unanswered as to who ordered this to be done.
Who leaked these pictures? There is too many dims to choose from.
Folks this story is getting old. Leave it to the MSM to overplay their hand on this prison story. They can run it all they want the American public has moved on.
There is a place for no-holds-barred treatment of terrorists, but those are exceptional cases - a handful at most.
This is just a breakdown of discipline that produced little or no useful results, and discredits legitimate and needed pressure techniques.
Unless command breakdowns like this are investigated and punished, they will soon cost American lives, because they will happen in other contexts.
BBBBLLLLUUAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!
A couple of years ago, these the exact same types of stories, pictures and video would have been used as evidence by the usual media suspects and Amnesty International as proof that Saddaam Hussein had resolved his human rights abuse issues.
In another Washington Post story, linked by Drudge this morning:
Photographs and videos from Abu Ghraib were presented to Army investigators in January. They began to surface publicly last month, severely damaging the U.S. reputation in the Arab world.
"Be on notice," Rumsfeld said in a standing-room-only Senate hearing room May 8. "There are a lot more photographs and videos that exist. If these are released to the public, obviously it's going to make matters worse."
Yawn...
