I actually agree with the demolition of Abu Ghraib. Its a highly smbolic gesture that erases a building that represents to much evil.

Congress is a bunch of idiots. I don't want any of my money used for this. It's a waste.

Abu Ghraib should be destroyed. Much evil was done there during the Hussein era.

Destroy it and rebuild at American taxpayer expense no doubt. It isn't going to change what happened. Yup, PC non-thinking.

Like a bunch of frogs storming another (empty) Bastille. These people have too much time on their hands. They ought to be locked up so that they can't harm anyone.

Seems this would make for a good candidate for the Line Item veto if this item makes it's way into the final bill.

Is the US congress going to start making Iraqi law too? If they get a head start with the Iraqi education system, they can dumb them down so all Iraqi will be Democrats. Right?

Is the prison even "ours" to tear down? Thought Abu G. was in Iraq. Shouldn't the leadership there have some say in the matter?
Our Congresscritters have again overly excited themselves with their own brilliant ideas.
To: sathers
So they want to tear this prison down and that means, guess what? We have to build another one using U.S. tax dollars. God knows what depravity went on in the oval office when Clinton was there but we're not tearing down the white house.
To: sathers
Intresting that the first bill included a new prison for Iraq and the Dims shouted it down. They made a big deal in the media that it was to cost 50K per cell. Now its the thing to do.
Dims only have eyes in their A$$. Hindsight and Rats go togather.
