Bump!
This was great -- interesting, informative and believable, unlike the trash we get every day from Agence Jazeereuters Press.
I don't normally listen to Rush (no radios allowed at the workplace), but I took an early lunch and heard the bulk of this interview on the truck radio. It was fascinating to hear.
Big Media gets in the way...
Another Rush Exclusive.
Interesting...The G.I. says the war is for the oil and the Iraqi (Arab) population believe they are above any type of labor...This is also true in Saudi Arabia...
But he gives me the impression he's in it because it's the right thing to do...And of course, we can win if not for the politicians and media...

The best part was when he said, (paraphrased) "I was more afraid of the war while watching the news, then when I was in Iraq."
This guy was amazing! And he has this country pegged. Rush treated him with tons of respect, and should have.
It was great. I listened live. Thanks for the transcript though, because there was a few things that I missed.
It was very enlightening.
Amazing to read, even more so since another just returned soldier called a local talk show here in my area last week and related almost the same stories. He was upset at the media also, saying that they are hampering the effort because " CNN is on every corner watching every move we make, just waiting for us to make a mistake or something they can report to make us look bad."
When the press is hampering the war effort (while claiming to be impartial) and making them afraid to do their jobs and defend themselves for fear of bad reporting, then that media should be kicked the heck out so these guys can finish this job! They are hoping this goes bad, and are doing all they can to make that come true. This is seriously dangerous to the troops, and to all of us!
I listened to this today at work. It reaffirms my deep hatred for some of our politicians who are making this gentleman's and the rest of our military's jobs that much harder to do. We have 3 enemies in this war on terror-the Islamonazi's, the media and the Nancy Pelosi's here in the U.S.
CALLER: Yeah, I think there is, Rush. Unfortunately, you'd have to turn off the TV camera to get it done.
Says it all...
I appreciated hearing this interview. It has had a profound effect on my perception of the war.
The most telling phrase, " We allow them to keep an AK-47 per household, and/or a pistol." That is more "freedom" than we have or than the forces at work in our nation will allow.
I wish somebody would go and document the lives and misdemeanors of the press in Iraq. Photograph them in their hotels, follow them to their bars, take pictures of them harrassing US troops, lurk after them as they pick up chicks, snap them as they sneer and chuckle over their latest anti-soldier fotos, and then make a million on the book.
