BAGHDAD, Iraq Iraqi Governing Council member Ahmad Chalabi (search), once a darling of the American government, may have passed classified U.S. information to Iran, Fox News has confirmed.
U.S. troops and Iraqi police on Thursday suddenly surrounded and raided Chalabi's house and police also searched offices of his organization, the Iraqi National Congress.
CIA sources told Fox News there are reports that the INC passed information to Iran, but as far as what type of information, the sources said that isn't known for sure.
Defense officials also told Fox News there was speculation that INC members allegedly shared information with Iran (search) and misused funds and property belonging to the Iraqi Governing Council.

Well, isn't that interesting. It might explain a few things that have been happening lately.
I wonder how the left will report it.
Dang, treachery in that part of the world? Who'da thunk it?
It's called "walking the dog".
Hell, we have a commie spy running for President here.
Put the scumbag in the same cell with Saddam
D'oh.
CBS reported that he gave Iran "highly classified info." Of that's the case, who gave Chalabi this info in the first place. Heads should roll.
Interesting. On the one hand, he may have spied for Iran. On the other hand, he may have annoyed the State Department by releasing documents on the UN Oil for Food Scandal. So either this is a good thing--or a bad thing.
According to news articles yesterday, the US Administrator in Iraq has been pushing to change accountants looking into the Oil for Food Scandal, and may be trying to bury it.
In other words, I'm not sure whether to believe this story or not.
al-Sadr is also connected with Iran; they are funding his activities in Iraq.
Its not nice to fool with us.
Being that he was a key member of the CPA, he had access to all kinds of "classified" info
We should take him on a tour of Abu Graib, I'm sure Lindy England has a pair of panties that would fit his head
I just hope that the Shia who becomes Iraq's leader in July doesn't make Iraq a territory of Iran like Chalabi apparently would have.
I don't know of a dirtier or crookeder guy still walking free. Chalabi makes the Tyco, Enron and MCI guys look like sandlot players.
It (the pulled article) was fairly accurate in areas I have direct knowledge, albeit conservative in its figures.
The Washington businessman ( a BIG Clinton contributor) mentioned nailed Petra Bank for more than $12 million, but maybe that was what he cleared and didn't count what went back to Petra officials for making the loan.
So far, the Shia are the most reasonable, besides the Kurds of course
Follow the money.
Chalabi is proven to be the worst kind of mercenary, bamboozling scumbag...
Take 'em away and do what has to be done.
