I first discovered FreeRepublic (then Whitewater) and several other useful sources of information when the NY Times ran an article in their magazine trying to debunk the Vincent Foster conspiracy theories. There used to be jumps in the number of hits and members every time some media source mentioned this site.
I'd suggest maybe they called it Freerepublic.org to misdirect potential newbies, but I doubt they're that smart.

Theory: Bergs death is somehow linked to his dads anti-war activities Why was Michael Berg's membership in the anti-war group ANSWER posted on an enemies list on the conservative Web site freerepublic .org, and who saw it?
Ah, how about this one, and by far the most likely;
Theory: Berg's death is somehow linked to his dads anti-war activities. People talk about their children socially. And talking about you Jewish son alone in Iraq doing contracting war while you are among the most extreme members of the anti-war movement is bound to eventually catch the ears of an actual terrorist.
Did Mike Berg's big mouth and terror sympathizing ways perhaps lead to his own son's murder?

ANSWER is the one who had Nick's dad's name listed! Doug merely reposted their list here. Why isn't ANSWER being called the reason for his death the way FR is, huh?

Breaking Now On The Drone Report
It was the Tri-Lateral Commission, Jim Robinson, former members of The John Birch Society and two overeager staffers on the now defunct Wesley Clark for President Campaign. The latter two seemed to believe they were beheading the Chinese ambassador to New Guinea. They were quoted afterwords as saying "Whoops, I guess that's why we didn't do so well in the polls."
And those guys who are supposedly just putting Fluoride in your drinking water, we'll take them up later....

As we all know Liberals hate Bush as much as most of us hate Bin Laden. But they have no legitimate basis so they invent insane sounding conspiracy theories to justify their hate.

Lets see. I'm a terrorist and I want to see who belongs to ANSWER. I could either google, go to FR OR check the ANSWER web site but as a terrorist I immediately log on to FR.
