Explosives Delivered to Coalition Forces Near Baghdad

BAGHDAD, Iraq — An unidentified Iraqi dropped the largest single cache, to date, of mortar rounds and triggering devices to a Task Force Baghdad base camp shortly after midnight this morning.

An explosive ordnance disposal unit was called in after the drop and discovered that the cache contained 101, 82-millimeter mortar rounds, 99 triggering devices and a blasting cap.

The EOD unit took possession of the munitions for future disposal.
