Americans are so good at self-flagellation, even a heinous act by others may be insufficient to remind us we're not so bad after all. For three weeks, the media have bludgeoned the Bush administration, the defense secretary and the U.S. military for mistreatment of detainees in Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison.

What really angers me is the apparent acceptance of the population with the media feeding us their propaganda how Bush and Rumsfeld are the root of all evil, Nick Berg is all Bush and Rumsfeld's fault and that wasn't so bad-what's bad is how those prisoners in Abu Gharib were 'tortured'. What really is the case is why is the United States even following the Geneva Convention to begin with since everyone whom we go to war with NEVER follows it to begin with. I say if they do not release those remaining American hostages that we threaten to kill those we've got in our custody. We will treat them how they treat ours. Zacqawi needs to be slowly beheaded for that matter.

The leaders of democratic party and the anchors in media have become public enemies. They have an influence that is going to bring this nation to it's knees. Yesterday I visited for a short time with my father-in-law, he is 89 and a retired LTC (1961). He is normally mr conservative, but yesterday he was sounding like Dan Rather concerning the POW cases. He was almost calling for the resignation of Bush over the affair. I explained to him those involved were only a handful in probably 140,000 that are in Iraq, meaning a 1:10,000 or so ratio. He nodded his understanding, but the seed of doubt is there. He does like Ollie and if I can find him on Fox this afternoon maybe that will help.
To add to the "is the media REALLY biased" debate... take a look at MSNBCs news website... A banner reading "Report: Rumsfeld OK’d Iraq interrogation plan" is there taking you to the story, which leads you to believe it's true, until way down the article, you find out it's MSNBC reporting on another report by the New Yorker magazine, and then of course the comments by Rumsfeld are way down saying how ridiculous that story in the New Yorker was. Unreal.
Your exactly right! Thanks for posting this. I like Ollie too. He's one of the few that puts out truth. He goes straight to the source too. The way he goes right in where it's all happening with our guys is something this RATmedia doesn't have the guts to do. God Bless all our people in uniform and God Bless Ollie too. Well, 'agreed' is probably a better word but it is Sunday.
One of the reasons I think there wasn't as big an outcry is because we've known all along what these insects are capable of. They remind us regularly, especially with the occurrences in Israel. Who shoots a woman and her four kids, shooting the kids first, except a bunch of insects? We know what they're capable of.
We didn't know that England and the boys were fond of goober-porn and/or buggery. It was mostly a question of being shocked by the photos of a man on a leash, etc., I mean I know a few people liked it, unfortunately most people didn't. It was like being forced to look at your neighbors in a really bad edition of Hustler. Few, if any, that is the American people, equate the two morally, IMO.
(1) I would issue a warning to the effect that another 9/11 type attack on this country would be viewed as an act of war committed by the Muslim wprld and would be answered with "termination with extreme predjudice".
(2) I would warn any city in Iraq that if an American was killed it would be removed from the face of the Earth. And I would follow through.
(3) I would warn Syria that if they were found to be aiding the terrorists in Iraq or anywhere else, Damascus would be flattened.
(4) I would warn Iran that any evidence found of their pursuing a nuclear weapon would be met with maximum force.
(5) I would deputize state militias in California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas to guard the borders with orders to shoot on sight anyone found crossing illegally.
(6) I would initiate treason proceedings against selected members of the media.
And that's just for a start.
I would apologize to no one.
I don't want to hear about "political realities", I just want the President to take the reins of power and protect this country with whatever force is required.
