Arianna Huffington, Joe Trippi Challenge Kerry to ``Go Big''; Petition Ignites the Internet
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 6, 2004--An impassioned appeal was made today to Senator John Kerry by author and political activist Arianna Huffington and veteran Democratic campaign strategist Joe Trippi. They are asking him to "Go Big, Ask More!" a rallying cry that asks Kerry to become the strong, dynamic, inspirational leader Americans are longing for. In an effort to transcend the, now typical, voter's dilemma of choosing between the "lesser of two evils," the duo has launched an online petition drive calling on Sen. Kerry to offer a bold moral vision of what America can be, and to revitalize the optimism that's lying dormant in our country. "John Kerry has the biography, the leadership experience, and the authority to be the candidate and the president the country so urgently needs," said Huffington.
"Let Bush run on the platform of September 11th and the politics of fear. Kerry should own September 12th - the spirit of generosity and community that poured forth in the aftermath of the attacks - and the politics of hope. He needs to listen to the people, and the people, in turn, need to speak out now when it really matters," continued Huffington, author of the recent FANATICS & FOOLS: THE GAME PLAN FOR WINNING BACK AMERICA.
Former Dean campaign manager Joe Trippi added, "The people aren't asking for much. They want a candidate who is unafraid to ask more of the American people; someone who isn't going to play it safe to get those supposed votes in the middle but will instead campaign on a broad vision of what America can be if we all do our part."
The online petition, which can be found at www.fanaticsandfools.org/petition, asks Senator Kerry to reach out to the 50 percent of eligible voters who did not vote in 2000 and will not vote in 2004 unless he speaks to their concerns. Thousands have already asked Kerry to "Go Big, Ask More!" in the hope that he will harness the sense of an American community that came forth in the aftermath of 9/11
"Fanatics and Fools" which - Arianna and Trippi - is which?
You can't make chicken salad out of chicken sh*t.
Well, thanks to Arianna's impeccably bad advice, Kerry now knows what he shouldn't do.
Today's Boston Herald had a column by Arianna on the editorial page. I saw her name and I wondered about James Lileks and where he was vacationing.
Radix don't read Arianna. She lost it long ago!
You mean like Algore and the airbrush?
ROFL!
I don't get it. If you have to have an online petition telling your candidate how to act totally different to be acceptable, doesn't that mean he's really not your candidate?
Kerry has already started trying to re-invent himself and may try more re-inventions. But we all know that Al Gore invented re-inventing oneself. Al did it six or seven times in the last Presidential election cycle.
Foolish Fanatics-Democrats and Their Terrorist Comrads
... a rallying cry that asks Kerry to become the strong, dynamic, inspirational leader Americans are longing for ...On the right we long for freedom. On the left they yearn to surrender their freedom to a figure who is "strong, dynamic, and inspirational."
"Go big?"
That's impossible for Kerry, his stature as a leader is as small he is. He is probably a disappointment to Teresa Heinz. She bought him, now she can't find anyone to take him off her hands.
By all means Kerry take the advice of these two. Look how well their track records are. Dean really nailed down the nomination after leading all that time and Huffington put the scare in to Arnie didn't she. Oh I wish he would follow their example.
Gee, if she is going to dream the impossible, why not also ask for him to knock twenty years off his age and claim he was born in a log cabin.
Words fail me; though I can envision arianna and terezzzza doing lunch, daaahlink.
Go Big, eh???? It would be Laughable if it wasn't so damn sad!!! Democrats are SMALL- Minded thinkers!! They act like sheep or birds on a wire!! There is NO BIG INDEPENDENT thought!! Sad. but true.
Arianna Huffington and Teresa Heinz seem to be cut from the same cloth. Foreigners who come to America and marry incredibly wealthy Republicans and then when they're not married to them anymore, they become liberal Democrats.
"Go Big " sounds like some kind of SuperSized fountain drink at the 7/11.
Or one of those spam emails for penis enlargements.
