This new forum setup just sucks...Why do people always ruin a good thing? I used to like coming here, now its like navigating some bloatware site. Is there a reason for this?

oh, come on, if yer gonna quote R. Lee Ermey, ya gotta do two things:
1. quote the line, verbatim, with [bleep]s over the more colorful adjectives (nouns, verbs, adverbs, pronouns, gerundives... hey, the man is AN ARTIST)
2. post a pic of the man in full-tilt full-metal-jacket mode.
You knew this, didn't you?
You weren't ignorant... YOU WERE JUST TRYING TO BE DIFFERENT! :)

Heheh-- Wouldn't it be great if he wrote a pop-up book? They could sell it next to Hustler.

Okay.
You are the SECOND person to light me up over that!
I have no clue who R. Lee Ermey is.
*I* heard that quote more than 20 years ago at the hands of a former Special Forces NCO. It's a thing HE used to say, ( still DOES ) and I have used it since wher approptiate. Usually at misbehaving childfren.
So be a friend and clue me.

I know what you mean. All these stupid, pointless vanity posts... Seriesly... I seem to recall an identical post about 4 years ago, and somebody (was it you?) blasted the poster with the same reply.....
Deja Vu....

Full Metal Jacket
a movie by Stanley Kubrick.
R Lee Ermey was cast as a Marine DI
thing is, he WAS a DI during the Vietnam War, so he really lit up the screen.
somewhere around here I have a link to a prank-call automated system which has, among other notable and amusing quips, a vast store of R Lee Ermeyisms.
I'll see if I can find it.
