The beheading of Nick Berg was the act of the demon possessed. The act of blood-thirsty terrorists. The act of radical Islamic jihadists. How dare his father blame the very men leading the war against such monsters.
"My son died for the sins of George Bush and Donald Rumsfeld," Michael Berg said Thursday in an interview with radio station KYW-AM. "This administration did this."
I grieve and pray for this man and his family. No one should have to suffer what they are suffering now. Hearing the news that your son has been butchered by terrorists is bad enough. Seeing and hearing the butchery on the Internet is more than any parent should have to bear. But Mr. Berg's outrage at the Bush administration is both misguided and offensive.

I suspect the son was involved with the terrorists, probably at the bequest of the father. He was probably sacrificed by his father.
"How dare his father blame the very men leading the war against such monsters!"
It is good that Joel Rosenburg has had the courage to say this! And that he has the boldness in his books to represent evil as it rightfully should be represented!!
Exactly right. They are causing us to be weak. It's bad enough they're willing to sacrifice their own children to their agenda, I don't want them to cause the deaths of mine.
Mike Berg is partially to blame for his son's death. That's the unhappy truth he doesn't want to face; it's easier to transfer the blame to someone who won't strike back...this is psychology 101, folks. He's having a tantrum and Kerry is egging him on. Very nasty bit of business, and Kerry should be ashamed of himself. I expect Mike Berg to show up at various Kerry events, however, like that Vietnam vet Kerry's been dragging around the country. I hope he doesn't do this, but I suspect he will. His family should talk him out of any more public pronouncements. Maybe tape his mouth shut.
Thank you for saying that so well. I've been saying the same thing, but it takes me twice as many words!
Its "must see viewing" for liberals, if you ask me. Propoganda on either side - I can understand that. But a father disregarding his own son's views and saying what he did is pretty lame.
Michael Berg has been hoping for a moment like this for a long time - when the spotlight is on HIM and he can attack President Bush. Bada bing . . . bada boom. He's so corrupt that he's willing to use his own son's death to foster his sick political agenda. Words fail . . .
Yay for you certainly.
"killed their friend"
Very fishy indeed. Now, the son was a known Bush supporter, unless I read incorrectly. And the father was a known Bush hater. Also, I've read that they used to argue about this and had had a falling out. Could it be that the father - the same guy who doesn't even take time to greeve before he's out there using his son's death against his hated enemy (Bush) - had some hand in his son's death? Perhaps, as someone else said here, he ratted him out?
"The father also said, "They have killed their friend"."
This has been bothering me ever since I read it.
In all of this horror, we mustn't lose sight of the fact that we're being played. Nick Berg's death is a sideshow, and so are the Iraqi prisoners' abuses, etc.. We're in this for the long haul. We have to set up a democracy in Iraq, so that the Middle East will look around and see that they can live decent lives in this world and not wake up every morning feeling so inferior (and rightfully so, alas), that strapping on a bomb and blowing themselves up along with everyone else is the highlight of their day. Thank God we have adults in charge of this country who know that unless we prosecute the war against terror to the fullest, we will cease to exist as a nation, as will all of western civilization.
Those who appease the killers are to blame for Nick Berg's death as surely as if they wielded the sword. No wonder Mr. Berg is out of his mind with grief and horror. He can't face the truth.
I think the remark that Mike Berg made that 'they have killed their friend', refers to his son's desire to rebuild that benighted country. Nick was a friend to Iraq. I also suspect they lured him over there and intended to murder him way in advance of the fact. Otherwise, why the curious coincidence that the killer had used Nick's email account? And didn't Nick have an Iraqi roommate at one point or an Iraqi 'friend'? Someone posing as a friend, perhaps?
One virtue of talking a lot is occasionally I will say something smart ;)
I am sorry that Nick Berg's father had to endure the loss that he did. I would not wish that pain on anyone but the terrorists that we are fighting. Having said that, Nick Berg's father can kiss my hairy white a$$. Screw him. Sorry for the loss dad, I wish you had your kid back, but even if he was here, you are still a liberal scumbag.
NIck Berg's father, Mathew Berg, deserves to be condemned as having Nick's blood, and that of every other dead American in Iraq, on his hands.
Instead of fighting the people who murdered Nick and the other Americans, plus thousands of Iraquis, he's colaborated with and is collaborating with the subhuman murderers. He's an enthusiastic, active member of International A.N.S.W.E.R. ("IA"), a communist organization which actively supports America's enemies and the enemies of freedom throughout the world.
Matthew Berg signed IA's "Call to Action" of March 20, 2004 to "End colonial occupation from Iraq to Palestine." Even worse, as of May 11, 2004, IA had the following statement on its website:
"Having achieved their victory, however, the occupiers [of Iraq] now confront a people who have a long and proud history of resistance. The anti-war movement here and around the world must give its unconditional support to the Iraqui anit-colonial resistance."
"Unconditional support" means support no matter what. Matthew Berg unconditionally supported the subhumans when they hacked Nick's head off with a dull knife.
Do liberals EVER pass up a chance to attack, blame, indict, or accuse Republicans???? It is an outrage that, in the middle of his mourning, he somehow summons his deep political hatred toward this administration. And takes a phone call from kerry. Disgusting.
He may well be in mourning, but I have noticed in my 40+ years that those on the left will eagerly exploit any tragedy for the ideology nothing is off limits ! The "cause" comes first, foremost, always. Sad when you really think about scary as hell also.
