An open letter-- Berg dies while the Senate preens

Senator Hagel, Senator Nelson,

It has taken two days for me to have regained my composure to the point I could actually write you.

You see, I've seen the unedited video of the Berg (an American) murder.

Yes I watched the horrors of 9-11. I saw the Pearl (an American) murder video and the burning and gleeful dismemberment of the four security personnel (Americans). But the Berg video was staring straight into Hell. These things took their time. They used a dull knife and took 30 seconds to saw off this man's head. They waited to cut his throat so they could hear him scream while cutting the muscles and bone around his larynx. And they enjoyed it. And then the closeup of his head with the eyes still wide open... This was an atrocity gentlemen. This was torture. This was despicable.

For days we have had puffed up, preening, moron Senators throwing around these same terms regarding the Maplethorpe photo sessions of the Iraqi prison criminals (Iraqi, Syrian, Iranian, et al). It has been a study in a stupefying lack of proportion in Washington. The non-stop apologies, hand wringing and breast beating have been embarrassing to our country, rollicking entertainment for our enemies and an insult to our military. It is particulary disappointing in the fact that the two Senators I have the more respect for at this time are NOT from Nebraska. The men that have shown the courage to have perspective have been Senator Lieberman and Senator Inhofe and I thank them for that.

Poor Mr. Berg, his monstrous (please note the correct use of the term) end has been relegated to a item on page 26 with nary a one hour sub committee hearing to his credit and the days-long pathetic posturing of the Senate remains a front page story.

Gentlemen, these beasts from Hell that advocate, celebrate and commit these atrocities (please note the correct use of the term) want to do this to your wives, your children and then, you. The only thing standing in the way is our superb military and the will to win regardless of the cost. These creatures will welcome whatever help our national legislators and the hate-America-first press can provide to compromise that protection.

Gentlemen, with all due respect please tell your "good friends" to shut up, sit down, get off the US military's back, and let them do what they do best--win.

This went out tonight. I'm venting to more than my fine Freeper partners in thought crimes.

Hagel's sort of a low-rent McCain. Just as much ego but with a weaker publicist.

I've been feeling the same rage for two days. You said what I've been feeling. Thanks.

I think I'll send a similar letter to my Senators: Kennedy and Kerry.

Technically, they want to kill the males first, then enslave the females... otherwise pretty good ;)

I would have told them that it was time to get beyond the partisan bickering of pre-9/11 and get serious about fighting the WOT, rather than just pussy-footing around thinking it will just go away. Alot of people in this country, the Congress included, have forgotten the horrific images of 9/11. For me, as painful and gut wrenching it was for me, watching the video was like looking into the gates of Hell, as well as getting a good idea of just what kind of lifestyle the enemy we're up against lives on day-by-day.

I don't know if I would have sent my letter to Hagel. He seems to be out there as a surrogate for Kerry, and has been critical of the Bush administration regarding Iraq.

I understand your frustration. But Kennedy, Kerry Et. Al. are only interested in regaining power. They will go as low as it takes to do so.

I'm fifty one years old and have seen a good deal of dirty politics over the years but this takes the cake. Old worn out Democrat fossils willing to trade national security for one last crack at "glory".

The horrible death of Berg would only interest them if they thought they could gain the election by it.

It seems to me that a crack whore on a street corner has more honer than many in The Senate at this point.

I am right in there with you. I'm amazed at the people sitting in restaurants talking on cell phones completely oblivious to this demonic threat. My mind has been focused on weaponry excluded from the firearms category. I can imagine socialist coming to take the registered guns and leaving us defenseless. I don't think I'm being too imaginative thinking we are at the end of "some" time. I don't know if it's the biggie just yet, but I'm preparing myself for the very worse if not physically then at least going through the motions mentally.

With your permission, I'd like to hitchike on your efforts and send something very similar to my Senators - Ms. Murray and Ms. Cantwell of Washington State - both worthless, craven politicians and both dumber than a mud fence.

Great job - it is just exactly what we have to do. Hugh Hewett called for a letter righting campaign on his show today over just the subject you covered.

Good letter! Alas, I'm afraid nothing will get their attention until we see another horrific attack on our shores.

I'm wondering if the next flight 93 will hit Congress next time.

"I think I'll send a similar letter to my Senators: Kennedy and Kerry."

Why waste your time? Teddy is too drunk to read it and Kerry is a political whore who only wants power. Kerry couldn't care less what you think.

Remember that he thinks himself superior to us.

To all,

If you see a phrase, a paragraph, Hell the whole works, that some how speaks for you, please use it. I am humbled by your request. I wrote this from my heart with supervision from my brain. I wrote it proudly as an American, a VRWC member and a Freeper.

Great letter!!!!! I am afraid though that it is going to take another attack with the magnitude of Sept.11 or greater before most Americans understand what we are up against.

I once worked in a political office, and found that phone calls got results on a 1 to 100, or sometimes 1 to 300 (depending on the issue) basis. If one person called, then 100 others felt the same way, and the urgency was governed by the number of callers. However, if one letter was received, the action ratio became 1 in 10, and if 10 letters came in, the alarm bells began to ring. If 100 or 1000 letters were received - it became panic time, and all the stops were pulled out.

There are so many Freepers - what kind of effect do you think it would have in an election year if thousands and thousands of emails came in, day after day, all as indignant as your fine letter?
