The family has Nick tied up in the basement. They made a deal with MoveOn.org and the Screen Actor's Guild, to produce this movie (the videotape) and blame the whole thing on Bush so that Kerry would win the election. After Kerry wins the election, Nick is going to step out a shower and say the whole thing was a dream. I can't divulge the source, but I understand that after he's released from the cage he's being kept in, he's marrying a Korean sushi waitress. I don't know how to connect that.
Or is that a different Nick and and a different Cage? No matter, talking about dead people is fun. It's a conservative thing I guess.
Hey, did I tell you the one about the terrorists they caught in a moving van in Tennessee?

Yeah, but there were a lot of Philly Teamsters who set up that convention too, and they're not Bush supporters.

You would have to have connections on the ground, you would have to know the local people. You would have to know where to get materials and experienced laborers. Building a radio tower requires the use of heavy equipment and cranes and people who are not afraid of heights and are trained in this most dangerous business. You don't get that by calling up people in the white pages in Baghdad, especially when there are very few phones to begin with.Excellent observations.

Question for you, isn't the brother also big in the antiwar movement? I believe I read he was an organizer for the SF March 20th rally.
Perhaps the creep factor, the conspiracy theories and tinfoil hats abound because there is a mysterious element to Mr. Berg's Iraqi activities. Then we add the father's antiwar activities and his press comments have spurred this on. I daresay the father has turned turning the brutal death of his child into a political soapbox.

This kid from a seemingly middle class family managed to attend about half a dozen universities including Cornell.
The story is of interest but not more important than the way he was murdered.

A lefty with direct ties to pre-invasion Iraq. His sister was an American living in Iraq under Saddam's rule from all indications. Wonder if they were the haves or have nots.

In the e-mails, Nicholas Berg mentions meeting a brother of an uncle by marriage. Michael Berg said that his sister, who is now deceased, married an Iraqi man who lives near Baghdad.

IMO Berg is the one who was beheaded. Facial features match.

Nick Berg and his father, Michael, had strongly differing opinions about the war (a posting on a right-wing website had labeled Michael Berg as an "enemy" of the US because he signed a petition supporting the "Global Day of Action" held on March 20 to protest war in Iraq).i've done some searching and i have been unable to find an answer or gdoa connection. there is a mike berg involved in "not in our name," but he's in south carolina. does anyone have any link that confirms such a connection?

There are some statements that indicate he was pro-Bush, pro-Iraqi war. But why - if he was pro-America - would he have been friendly with someone like Moussoui?
After all, one does not ordinarily let terrorists use one's computer equipment to send e-mail messages if one is "pro-American."
To: John H K
Yes.
Looks like he lost a lot of weight over those weeks he was held. Easily done, not much food or water.
