The video is of poor quality, and its time stamp seems to show an 11-hour lapse between when the assailants finish their statement and push Berg down, to when they behead him. That suggests a delay between those two portions of tape posted on the Web site.

Which indicates that there were most likely even grislier moments that the killers chose to leave out.

I don't think any of the contrasts in appearance are out of the realm of possibility.

As for height, it's a little hard to tell, but he was thinner because he was held by his captors for up to a month (he went missing on April 10 or so, and he could have been killed up to a month later). Doubtful he was eating well during that time.

Hair color -- if you look carefully at the shaved head photo, the stubble of hair is dark. In a month, you can grow some hair and a beard pretty easily.

If I got the quote wrong it was only in the word, "He was a friend of the Al Quada". It might have been, "He was a friend to the Al Quada.

Both my husband and I heard him say Al Quada, and if he didn't say it there would have been no need for the anchor to have said he meant to say "Friend to the Iraqi's."

The family has Nick tied up in the basement. They made a deal with MoveOn.org and the Screen Actor's Guild, to produce this movie (the videotape) and blame the whole thing on Bush so that Kerry would win the election. After Kerry wins the election, Nick is going to step out a shower and say the whole thing was a dream.

Now, could it be that he was in cahoots with the Zarqawi gang, was picked up by Iraqi Police, released, and then executed for turning on his AQ cohorts?

It could very well be that his being detained for 13 days made his cohorts suspicious enough of him that they thought of a better use for him (in their warped minds), than whatever work he'd previously been performing.

I'm totally confused! His parents are Jewish. I assume he is Jewish. He has an aunt who I would assume is Jewish married to an Arab who I would assume is Muslim.

The parents are anti-war, anti-Bush.

The son is raised in the east but goes to college in the MidWest, Oklahoma. Oklahoma was the place where Timmy McVeigh blew up the Federal Building. Nick somehow lends his email address to one of the left out hijackers.

He goes to Iraqi. The other countries he visited, I believe also contain many Muslim fanatics.

The parents immediately blame President Bush and the father confers with John Kerry.

Meanwhile in Iraq, he seems to change his appearance from the "McVeigh" look (shaved head, no beard) to either a Muslim or Jewish look (curly hair, trimmed beard).

If you made this stuff up no one would believe it. It's like a Clancy novel.
