Wow!
I didn't find any RFP's for towers!
No --- except for exactly what you're doing --- pointing out corrections, clarifications, etc as needed. I think we all know that we're speculating --- guessing --- or trying to figure it out and we're reading things on here and it's like you said. But we're not content to wait for CBS or CNN to look into any of this and tell us facts.
I am at post 473,will I ever catch up.Father is devastaed and on the point of collapsing .
This thread is killing my eyes ;>)...just navigating back and forth is tiring so late.
I've just started mining that site for info so I haven't had time to go through it fully
I sure would like to know where Kerry fits in here.
I had a gut feeling when the photo's came out he
had something to do with it. Now I think so even more.
P.S. I just joined Freeps today. My husband has been
hanging around for years. If you can't beet em join em.
Now I know why, It's great stuff.
No kidding. Paging Lynndie England, please pick up the white courtesy phone. Talk about a clusterf*ck.
From the article in the Norman Transcript:
Michael Berg told the AP Nicholas' paternal aunt, now dead, married an Iraqi man named Mudafer, who became close to Nichols. In one of the emails, Nicholas Berg describs going to the northern city of Mosul, where he introduced himself to Mudafer's brother, identified as Moffak Mustaffa.
"We got along splendidly," Berg wrote. "We spent a few hours and I helped him establish an email account."
Berg notes that "my prsence ... made him more concerned (about his own safety and probably mine too) that I've been the entire time I've been here."
My comment: What is all of this about establishing email accounts -- do all these people have access to computers in Iraq?
Interesting!
You would think that Aziz Taee, would have been concerned when his pardner failed to show for a couple weeks.
Plus Aziz Taee could have vouched for him with the local police.
Bloody hell, people, this thread still going? Cut it out! I say, let it be.Heading to my favourite watering hole now, The Oasis on the edge of town to lubricate my throat! See ya...
One article on FR said that not only was he offered a free plane ride out of Iraq, but trip to airport as well.
Too many coincedences.
Berg knew Moussaousi, let him use him computer for email.
Most likely, Berg was a convert to Islam.
Probably went to Iraq to make contact with AQ or other terrorist operatives.
Was arrested by Iraqi police and questioned by US Military.
When he got free, he met his contacts and told them what happened. At that point, he was a HUGE liability/security risk for AQ, so they detained. When they needed someone to "make a point", they simply beheaded him on camera. Solved 2 problems at once.
Welcome Aboard! I think you could be right about Kerry -- he jumped on this too fast not to have advance warning. It smells and the smell is getting worse. Very good points!
Especially now that I know Berg was in the same city as the prison and he loved to take pictures according to what I read. Working nights on a tower iin Abu Ghraib caught my eye!
Welcome to Free Republic.
Don't get addicted, now. ;)
It seems like a pretty obvious ploy to placate him by concealing their intentions. I don't see how this implies any special relationship with him.
Maybe Nick was drugged, thus the complacency.
The only thing I looked at was the RFP's -- I would think that towers would remain open although two companies Halliburton and another one have contracts for repairing towers. May go to DoD and see if I can find what Halliburton and the other company bid on -- doesn't look like they were looking for one-man shows. Might be able to find out who is working on the tower in the prison town.
Slip of the key, should be natural born.
Wow...sure took you a long time. :o)
Welcome!
