Kerry: Replace Rumsfeld With McCain

Sen. John Kerry wants his Republican ally John McCain to replace Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.
"If America has reached a point where only one person has the ability in our great democracy to manage the Pentagon and to continue or to put in place a better policy even, we're in deeper trouble than you think," Kerry told broadcaster Don Imus today.
"I don't accept that. I just don't accept that. I think that's an excuse. The fact is that we need a change in policy."
Asked who he'd pick as a replacement, the presidential candidate first named Sen. McCain. Then he mentioned Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., Sen. John Warner, R-Va., and William Perry, who was defense secretary under Bill Clinton.
"There are any number of people who are unbelievably capable. This notion that we have to continue with a policy that's wrong and taking us down the wrong track is absurd," Kerry said.
McCain has long been an apologist for the Massachusetts Democrat. Only this week he said no one should look into Kerry's admitted war "atrocities."

If McCain's father and greandfather had not been Navy Admirals and had McCain not been shot down over NVN, he'd be a nobody. He's not that bright.

You have that right about giving into Al Qaeda
McCain is part of the Kerry's attack Rumsfeld/Bush Administration that is ongoing -- he took after Senator Inhofe yesterday for his comments about his outrage of the outrage by the media, politicians, and the Kerry campaign.
McCain should resign as co-chair of the Bush campaign in AZ because he is obviously a Kerry supporter. McCain is mad at Pres Bush for not making him the SecDef which would have been a disaster.
McCain and Kerry go together IMHO -- both outspoken critics who could care less about our military in Iraq or they would both shut-up. All they care about is getting face time on TV! Both losers IMHO!
Can you tell that I detest John McCain? :)

The real headline should be Kerry's naming of Levin, who would be an absolute disaster for this Country. Bill Cohen is a weakling as well. In fact, it would be returning to power the Sec of Defense who failed to deal with Al Queda. Oy.

So if Kerry were President and McCain were Defense Secretary and McCain's Senate seat was filled by a Democrat, would the Democrats FINALLY support the War On Terror?
To: areafiftyone
McCain has long been an apologist for the Massachusetts Democrat. Only this week he said no one should look into Kerry's admitted war "atrocities." McCain has never gotten over his "treatment" during the 2000 election. Sometimes I wish he'd just wander out in front of speeding bus...

Bad choice. McCain has already made the transformation from war hero to pure politician, just as john glenn and bob kerrey did and john kerry did after 4 months in VN. They no longer bear any resemblance to what they were when in the military.

Bears repeating.
