[history]
May 12, 2004 -- WASHINGTON - A young American contractor in Iraq was mercilessly beheaded by Islamic terrorists on a horrifying videotape released yesterday as so-called revenge for the abuse of Iraqi prisoners. The sickening video, posted on an al Qaeda-linked Web site, shows a killer identified as terror boss Abu Musab Zarqawi sawing off the head of a screaming Nick Berg.

As much as I didnt want to view it, I had to break down and look at the video clip. I heard the comment - At least beheading is quick.
Visions of the traditional Arabic headsman sword came to mind. I did not expect to see this animal sawing off the mans head with a knife.
Sickening.
I am rapidly losing my rational thinking. I am beginning to join the ranks of those who have seen enough. Maybe if the Muslim radicals want to call our war a crusade, we should make it a true crusade.

Your right, this is actually at least a regional war of radical Islam against western civilization, but we are being rather stealth so we can do the most effective work before the main body of this erupts.
Yet again, if Bush can get some Democracies going in there, that could save lots of deaths from occurring.
A impossible task, but I'm for him giving his best effort in the name of peace.

"For the mothers and wives of American soldiers, we tell you that we offered the U.S. administration to exchange this hostage for some of the detainees in Abu Ghraib and they refused," one of the men read from a statement. This is the first time I'm hearing about this. Has anyone else heard that they offered to trade this guy for Iraqi prisoners? Why is it that no one is focusing on this aspect of the crime. Seems to me the libs would be all over this.

I followed the links and didn't see the message board you mentioned. (What am I doing wrong?) You say they're pulling posts that are critical, eh? Figures. Good of you to expose this, it's relevant. If they're on friendly terms and share similar points of view, I'm ready to convict them.

I assumed most people believed it was propaganda, as I do. The comments to 'wives and mothers' seems pretty transparent - especially since he was not a soldier.

Ruppert Murdoch, have you no shame!
Have you no feelings for the family members?
You give yellow journalism a new meaning.
Your NY Post and FOX NEWS are tools of propaganda for terrorists.
Quit sensationalizing the negative.
Quit showing the Iraqi prisoner abuse photos and TV footage.
We Americans are tired of your foreign input.

Yep, I've seen that before.... it's the standard list of Democrat/Green/Socialist/ANSWER-org talking points.
They just keep regurgitating the same steaming piles of garbage.

Ruppert Murdoch won't like it.
Screw him!

A hive of terrorists in a camp being blown to oblivion, taped would be good. HELL no, would be better if it was a live, on camera, bomb dropped on the perpetrators hideout while the world watched.

Oue enemy doesn't respect us for painting school walls. They don't respect us for restoring the power and water. They only respect strength and force, therefore they don't respect us at all.And our enemy doesn't vote in the November election, either. If you realize that all the humanitarian stuff that's done is done for the approval of likely voters, it will start to make more sense. If strength and force would ensure a free pass from the media and ensure reelection, that would be pursued instead.
Remember, politicians first, humanitarians second. Why do you think Islam was originally labelled a religion of peace? I hate to sound cynical, but I am when it comes the state of American politics.
To: A CA Guy
I agree, Bush is treading a thin line domestically and in foreign relations. He is doing as well as anyone could expect, we are very lucky to have him leading Western civilization at this time in history.
But I really think this thing is going to explode. The islamists are not that bright. The already have the English speaking world against them, and the Russians. Given the chance they will piss off everybody, including the Germans and maybe even the French. Now that Saddam is not giving out any more bribes, I think that sooner or later the west will ally and victory will come that much sooner.

I, too, think that a large bomb dropped somewhere is now appropriate.
I also will state for the record that my opinion is that it ought to be nuclear, too.
