Yeh, proposing a high moral ground may sound like we are so much better, but when the attacks come, we will still be just as dead.

From a bio printed in some media today, Berg sounded like a find, decent, person of high moral character. But he is just as dead, from this enemy, as Pat Tillman, another fine, decent, person of high moral character.

We can talk high moral ground if we survive and win this war. Otherwise, it won't mean much then anyway.

No, but I believe that we need to fight this war with the goal of winning, and winning quickly. Precision fighting is good, but I believe that we are holding ourselves up to a much higher standard than we have in the past.

If it takes leveling a few cities in order to accomplish our goal, so be it. It's not like they are going to hate us any more or less, regardless.

I have seen the video but did not notice his eyes. However, I would not find it unusual as most corpses, immediately after death, do go through muscle and nerve spasms. His head is part of his corpse.....no matter how uncaring or clinical that may sound.

I don't think it has been 'subverted'. It has been CLARIFIED. Islam has been evil from it's inception. It was founded in madness and it has taken all these centuries for the basic tenets of Islam to prevail and be empowered by modern technology.
Islam has ALWAYS promoted subjugation of all who are not Islamic by violent means.
There may have been fewer followers willing to ACT upon it's tenets in the past, but there are many now- and they are following their 'religion' well.

Exactely. It could have been any American of any ethnic extraction. I think when Daniel Pearl had his throat cut his murderers made a point of saying that he was a Jew. I don't think that is the case in this murder- it was enough that he was American.

Especially in the case of a decapitation, it's often the case that the dead person continues some movement in the more distal areas. The movements that are normally inhibited become disinhibited with the loss of central control from the brain. Often the body will ripple, as with a convulsion. You've heard the expression "running around like a chicken with its head off," and there is a reason behind this saying--it does happen. A young man in our lab was bitten by a dead rat, as the severed head sank its teeth immovably into his thumb. So, yes, it is very likely that you saw the eyelids of the deceased fluttering even after he was actually dead. I am sorry, it's very unpleasant to talk about these things, but I don't want anyone to think that moving peripheral structures mean that he was still alive and moving his eyelids deliberately.
