Kristinn just called me and asked me to post this thread.

He just called CBS Evening News and asked them if they were going to show the militant Islamists' video of the beheading of American Nick Berg.

The woman who answered the phone said that they were going to do a story on it, but they were NOT going to show the full video.

He asked them, "Why not, since you had no problem showing the pictures of the Iraqis being abused by our guys in the prison. Don't you think turnabout is fair play?"

The woman got mad and said, "Thank you for your comment." and then hung up the phone.

This sounds tough but it is time to stop playing around. You cant reason with terrorist and they will explode a nuke or dirty bomb here as soon as they can.
We need to give them ample warning to clear out in Falaujah
or whatever the spelling is and nuke it to the ground.

Journalistic integrity would be to air the video and warn the viewers. It is what they did with the torture photos, and it is the right way to go about this.

It "compromises journalistic integrity?" That didn't stop CBS from showing Jack Kervorkian offing a man with ALS. Give me a break.

I actually don't want them to air the video, nor do I wish to see it (the descriptions give me a clear enough mental picture), but CBS' hypocrisy on this is mind-boggling.

Chris Core, the (usually wishy-washy) radio guy on WMAL-AM 630 in DC has just ended the half-hour with a comment to his listeners, telling them that he has emailed CBS News and told them that they owed it to the American people to show the video; and he encouraged all his listeners to do the same.

I called and said "My son is going to be watching the news with me tonight and I need to know if you will be airing the beheading video".

She replied "No, due to FCC regulations...."

I said "Well, you told my son that Americans tortured prisoners and showed him pictures of it, why aren't aren't you going to show him what these barbarians do to American prisoners? Whose side are you on?"

Check CNN yourself, if you don't believe me. Since I last wrote, they did mention the story again [30 secs], but not before 3 more soundbites about the Taguba testimony and reactions thereof.
