Kristinn just called me and asked me to post this thread.

He just called CBS Evening News and asked them if they were going to show the militant Islamists' video of the beheading of American Nick Berg.

The woman who answered the phone said that they were going to do a story on it, but they were NOT going to show the full video.

He asked them, "Why not, since you had no problem showing the pictures of the Iraqis being abused by our guys in the prison. Don't you think turnabout is fair play?"

The woman got mad and said, "Thank you for your comment." and then hung up the phone.

just called and told them they have been showing all week (humiliation and not torture) the muslim male pigs who abuse women and treat them like cattle. And, CBS can't show an American being behead by these woman hating nuts. Comment taker made comment about FCC, I said they should show it anyhow. Anybody have Peter or Tom's phone number?

The switchboard operator cut me off when I started asking her about the video. She put me straight through to voice mail so I left them a message telling them it's their fault that Berg was beheaded. My message will start their day off with a bang. :-)

I emailed asking if they were going to show footage of the beheading as balance to their coverage of the Iraqi prisoner abuse story, and that it's important to know what sort of people we are at war with.

Neither the Army nor Col Hackworth has the ability to reach as many people as CBS News.

They were asked not to give the photos airtime, and they refused.

First, I was asked what state I lived in and then was told that the news cast--I cut her off--and said "oh, come on you have days to show it, just like you did the torture of the Iraq prisoners. She said if I would not cut her off--and then told me that it could not be shown in its entirey because of FCC. I told her that was a point-blank lie.

Well, I'm here because somebody pinged me. The regular networks have never aired the Richard Perle video [although I recall some European network may have]. As it is, I have not been able to find the terrorist website [Muntada al-Ansar] wherein the unedited video is reportedly posted.

I think that CBS may be correct when they say that the FCC will not allow a beheading to be aired.

As it is, I found out about this story because the Fox News Channel is always the first thing that I turn on, wherein there was saturation coverage of the Nick Berg beheading. They did give an explicit verbal description, however. Gruesome enough.

At this moment I have CNN on to compare.

After a long period of coverage of Gen. Taguba's testimony about our people horribly putting ladies panties on a terrorists face, then a passing mention was made of the Berg murder. That was all that CNN had time for on the story.

Right now they're talking about how Americans are frightened about jobs being exported.

It's all a matter of perspective/priority, isn't it?
