A Muslim group Tuesday condemned the murder of a U.S. contractor who was beheaded by a group claiming links to al Qaeda. "We condemn this cold-blooded murder and repudiate all those who commit such acts of mindless violence in the name of religion. We call on people of all faiths and cultures to work together for peace and reconciliation, not war and destruction," the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) said in a statement. A video posted on an Islamic militant web site showed the murder of a Philadelphia man identified as Nick Berg, whose body was found on a highway overpass in Baghdad on Saturday.

They must be getting neervous. I do believe it is a first.
To: Rockitz
Must be a misprint. They've never cared before.

Sure, they have to care now, because Bush and the administration has proven they care about the mistreatment of Iraqis even though they were prisoners.
So they have to at least feign caring about the murder of an innocent.

Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) Seems they learned a new song. In time? Probably not.

Amazed silence ensues.
I was getting pretty angry at the lack of such condemnation.

Look for an Arabic-language version.

It sure IS a first. I have trouble believing it's true, except that CNS is pretty reliable.

vWhere's the apology? Yeah, where is King Abdullah's apology for this atrocity? After all, Bush inexplicably apologized to him--a Jordanian--for the frathouse pranks we did against Iraqis. Aparently the view is that all Arabs are the same...so I fully expect apologies from the House of Saud, Egypt, Arafat et al.

I drove by the local Islamic Center this afternoon.
I hated that these terrorists are making me feel the way I do towards all moslems today.
To: Rockitz
I'll be impressed when they inform any law enforcement agency about information they've come across regarding terrorists or their plans.
To: Rockitz
In truth, CAIR is outraged that FoxNews is spending more time on Berg than on that poor terrorist 'insurgent' who was scared by those big mean vicious growling dogs.

I guess frat-style humiliation qualifies for an apology and cold-blooded murder only rates a condemnation?

It wasn't "mindless" violence - it was violence in accordance with Surah 8:12 in the Koran.
