U.K. Has `Indications' Iraqi Abuse Photos Are Fake (Update1) May 10 (Bloomberg) -- U.K. Defence Secretary Geoff Hoon said there are signs that photographs the Daily Mirror published purporting to show British soldiers abusing Iraqi prisoners may be fake.
The comment casts doubt on accusations that British troops tortured Iraqis. Polls show those charges have hurt the approval rating of Prime Minister Tony Blair, who said accusations of abuse by U.K. troops are still being investigated.

According to Sky News, the Mirror has admitted that the photos are fake, but that they are "accurate illustrations" of what happened.
The editor of the Mirror should be hanged.

I have noticed the US Media's total lack of curiosity over whom is responsible for the photos being taken and how it came to be that they were released to the pooblic. The Media is also apparently uncurious as to the photos' authenticity. This is in stark contrast to the curiosity they have displayed about who leaked memos damaging to Democrats and who leaked Valerie Plame's name even though everyone in DC knew she was CIA.

It was in a short news alert an hour ago. I am trying to find confirmation at their webpage, but there is nothing there yet.

I am pleased, the British Army has always had a good solid reputation, well trained and disciplined, I saw that in service in Both North Ireland and Bosnia.
A lot of it has to do with the regimental structure a family structure where Officers and NCOs always new and took an interest in what the other ranks were up to.

If The Mirror did invent those pictures, then they probably should be jailed -- after the hanging.

I have noticed the US Media's total lack of curiosity over whom is responsible for the photos being taken and how it came to be that they were released to the pooblic. Rush Limbaugh is aware of this. He pointed out last week on his show how some on the left (including Hillary) are trying to downplay the significance of the photos in this case.

Now that the lying scumbag editor of the Mirror has admitted these photos were fake.
Will he admit to being paid by the $orA$$ thugs as part of an internation left wing plot to try and electronically lynch Rummey and GW with these fake pictures.
One can only hope some discharged SAS vets get to know this slim bag up close and personally.

And the front page photos run by the arab press:
U.S. calls for Arab retractions
The day after a WorldNetDaily report revealed that photos circulating in the Middle East that depict GI's raping Iraqi women were fake and had originated from pornography sites, the U.S. Embassy in Cairo issued a statement calling on Arab news outlets to publish retractions. The embassy statement read, "We have done a thorough investigation of the origin of these photos and have conclusive evidence that they originated on a pornographic web site. They are clearly staged photos, done by actors, as the site itself states."
The Al Wafd newspaper published four photographs on the top of its front page that were alleged show American soldiers sexually abusing female prisoners in Iraq. Al Osboa and Al Mussawer published two of the same photos
The U.S. Embassy called the publication of these pornographic photos, with headlines alleging the involvement of U.S. soldiers, a "fundamental violation of journalistic integrity," and stated that their publication needlessly inflamed an already heated atmosphere.

Michael Moore claims to have operatives helping him from Iraq on his film Farrenheit 911. He has also said that the Iraqis are not "the enemy", they are freedom fighters. He has asked that he hopes they do not hold resentment after we leave (presumably by defeat).

Compare too the media's "outrage" at the hoaxed up photo of Kerry with Fonda (while a genuine photo existed) to their lack out outrage over FAKE pirsoner abuse photos that have run in the press.
