The Iranian Student Movement Up To The Minute Reports ^

The US media almost entirely ignores news regarding the Islamic Republic of Iran. As Tony Snow of the Fox News Network has put it, this is probably the most under-reported news story of the year. Most Americans are unaware that the Islamic Republic of Iran is NOT supported by the masses of Iranians today. Modern Iranians are among the most pro-American in the Middle East.
There is a popular revolt against the Iranian regime brewing in Iran today. I began these daily threads June 10th 2003. On that date Iranians once again began taking to the streets to express their desire for a regime change. Today in Iran, most want to replace the regime with a secular democracy.
The regime is working hard to keep the news about the protest movement in Iran from being reported. Unfortunately, the regime has successfully prohibited western news reporters from covering the demonstrations. The voices of discontent within Iran are sometime murdered, more often imprisoned. Still the people continue to take to the streets to demonstrate against the regime.
In support of this revolt, Iranians in America have been broadcasting news stories by satellite into Iran. This 21st century news link has greatly encouraged these protests. The regime has been attempting to jam the signals, and locate the satellite dishes. Still the people violate the law and listen to these broadcasts. Iranians also use the Internet and the regime attempts to block their access to news against the regime. In spite of this, many Iranians inside of Iran read these posts daily to keep informed of the events in their own country.
This daily thread contains nearly all of the English news reports on Iran. It is thorough. If you follow this thread you will witness, I believe, the transformation of a nation. This daily thread provides a central place where those interested in the events in Iran can find the best news and commentary. The news stories and commentary will from time to time include material from the regime itself. But if you read the post you will discover for yourself, the real story of what is occurring in Iran and its effects on the war on terror.
I am not of Iranian heritage. I am an American committed to supporting the efforts of those in Iran seeking to replace their government with a secular democracy. I am in contact with leaders of the Iranian community here in the United States and in Iran itself.
If you read the daily posts you will gain a better understanding of the US war on terrorism, the Middle East and why we need to support a change of regime in Iran. Feel free to ask your questions and post news stories you discover in the weeks to come.
If all goes well Iran will be free soon and I am convinced become a major ally in the war on terrorism. The regime will fall. Iran will be free. It is just a matter of time.

"Perhaps you should read my profile before you doubt Iranian-Americans partiotism."
And you, with you cultural/language skills are doing exactly what to put your American patriotism to work? We see how you exert you iranian patriotism.
Talk is cheap.

I realize that the iranian people created a theocracy and that this thread is intended to elicit our support in relieving them of their self imposed government. I see no real world evidence that the iranian rank and file love America as you assert they do.
I see where the masses who enthroned the ayatollah now have second thoughts about it. To extrapolate that to a love of America by this muslim nation stretches credulity beyond the breaking point.

Iran will fall from within.
Syria we will invade, to seek out Saddams' WMD.
North Korea is shelved for the forseeable future... the man will rule at least another thirty years.
And if we can't remove Castro, it is even harder to remove Kim Jong Il

You should be kind to freedom... he can hunt down lots of photos and writings that prove how pro-US the Iranians truly are. I'm not as talented as freedom is, so I cannot do this for you. But, I urge you to go back through the long lists on Doc's page. There is much there to learn from.

"You may "guess" what you like. But it is either dissembling or naivete to believe that the POTUS has the luxury of speaking freely in the public arena."
He's putting money where his mouth is, so it ain't just "making nice".
"Why would I care?" Good answer....let's see.....you're the LEO with the Fed. connections...I would think it would be very important to you (since you felt it necessary to inform all of us of your credentials),whether this Thread and the people who frequent it are on the side of our government. After all, you have "flag issues".
"masquerades as a thread describing how the iranians support us." It DOES NOT. "This thread wants to support the Iranian people." How can you miss this message??
Sure there are articles on Iranians liking Americans...that's the truth! But that isn't the main focus. Wouldn't be much of thread if it was.
To: wtc911
I am not surprised that you don't know much about the Iranian people. That is why I started this thread.
Unlike the Arab communities, the Iranians in America are largely pro Bush.
The Iranians in Iran perhaps even more so.
American/Iranians are helping in the WOT both domestically and in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Again, I suggest you read the posts (there are nearly a years worth on FR) before slandering our efforts.
BTW, we are not seeking US military action in Iran. They need our moral support and it wouldn't hurt if Europe quit subsidizing the Mullahs of Iran.
This thread is read world-wide and we attempt to keep the posts to news and serious debate of the policy option in the WOT.

"Iran will fall from within."
But where will it land? I do not think it will be in our lap with flowers and chocolates and professions of love.

Of course not... it isn't ours to have. Iran will fall by the will and blood of the Iranian people. The regime will be ousted. And a secular democracy will replace the theocracy.

His first post ever to me gets pulled as abuse for calling me a facist and a nazi, and you want me to be kind to him.
What advice did you give him? Oh, wait, I know...none.
Good-night Gracie....(for those of you culturally challenged, she never made sense either)

I am not surprised that you don't know much about the Iranian people....
But I am not surprised that you presume to know what I know.
I happen to live in a town with one of the largest iranian populations in the country, second I believe only to LA. One of my sisters spent two years living there. I have had farsi-speaking business associates.
I have no doubt that the iranians want to rid themselves of the governance they created and fostered. I have real doubts that they have morphed somehow into a people who "love" America. will they use America? Yes. And then what?

"There are a few here who know my connections are real, in fact we share some of them in back channel. You want me to name confidential LEO anti-terror people...on an iranian thread? Yeah, that will happen."
I never said to name the LEO's. I said to quote them (as in tell verbatim what they told you). I also never said to do anything here except to leave everyone here alone and go (as in leave this thread) and create your own thread since you do not like the way this one is done.

That was not my first post to you and i believe you're well aware of that.
Your deep hatred of Americans of Middle Eastern Decent of anything and Muslims of all respects have been directed towards many users on here and i know exactly who you are and what kind of ideology you stand for.
Also, your factual data is incredibly skewed. Having been in contact with the government immediately following 9/11 i know that they were low on Farsi translators "before" the tragic event, *but* when i was in contact with them after help was sought, they had so many calls from Iranian-Americans due to satellite dishes that they didn't need anymore help. In fact, PARS TV Network read a letter from the government thanking the community for it's overwhelming help.
Perhaps you can spend some time studying and learning - it always helps and you're always invited here to learn, but when you come here and attack people for their ethnicity, and background based on false personal claims without hearing the other sides you're likely to get aggressive replies.
Hence the fact the facist ideology was mentioned.
To: freedom44
"you come here and attack people for their ethnicity, and background"
That is a lie. The rules of this forum state "no personal attacks, no racism". If I violated these rules I would have seen my posts pulled for abuse as you did.
..."facist ideology was mentioned"...
You did not mention facist ideology, you called me a facist and a nazi. Big difference but I guess your revision makes you feel better so run with it.
Your deep hatred of Americans of Middle Eastern Decent of anything and Muslims of all respects"...
Huh? You're in law school and can't write a sentence that makes better sense than this?
btw. I have no "deep hatred' of anything except the evil that men do. Such hatred is against my religion, a lessening of my spirit and a waste of my time. I am confident that you can find no expression of hatred for any American of any kind in any of my posts on any thread. It's true that I do not respect any group in America that could assist in the WOT and chooses not to or that puts the interests of another country ahead of those of ours. There are a number of groups that fall into that box. It is my right to express that sentiment here without the sort of name calling that you have exhibited.
If you chose to twist my expression of lack of respect as described above to one of deep hatred that is your privelege, it's dishonest but what the heck, go ahead, knock yourself out....and have a nice day.
