Great guy. Makes me proud to be a product of the same university as Rita Cosby. There is a certain aspiring opera singer who can say that too.

Don't you know that his capture and escape were all a set up to gain sympathy for the President and Operation Iraq Freedom.
Gamma Rays. You forgot to mention the Gamma Rays.

"When film of him was shown shortly after his capture, in a car, under armed guard, he did not look like a fearful prisoner." BINGO!
I saw the exact same look on his face as you did.....angry, determined and defiant.....one tough cookie, alright! If you heard the audio in that same video you might have detected the contempt for the press in his voice just as I did.

Heh heh heh, Kerry couldn't catch a break with a bushel basket.
You gotta love this Hamill.

Somebody posted a comment on another thread, I can't remember what thread it was, saying something to the effect that photos of WTCs and Pentagon should be posted at all polling places in November - to remind the voter exactly what's at stake here. After having all day to ponder that comment, I think that's a darned good idea.
The media won't remind the public, so we need to - enlarged photos of planes into sides of WTC towers 1 and 2, people hanging out the windows to escape the smoke and flames, jumpers, people fleeing the cloud when the towers fell, the wall of the Pentagon broken and in flames, the military members trying to rescue their brothers... all set up on easels outside our polling places. It'll give folks something to think about as they prepare to vote for the future of this country.

No one seems to have all the comments... He didn't have much to say, I think it may have been 60-90 seconds, but it was what he focused on, and how he said it...
WLOX has some coverage...
http://www.wlox.com/Global/story.asp?S=1839115 "I would like to thank the American public for their support of all deployed in the Middle East. Please keep your thoughts and prayers for those who are still there," Hamill said.
...FOR THEIR SUPPORT OF ALL DEPLOYED. You know where this man's heart is.

Fox is the best of a bad lot. I have lost a lot of respect for Fox for some of the clueless reporters it has and for a lot of the writing they read. They are better than all the rest but far from what I would want.
I don't want ANY of the RAT talking heads on Fox. They are more than amply supplied by all the RATmedia. When Fox just has more of the same the ratio of Right to RAT is too much more close to 0 than it should be. Fox could make it about 2/10 with less appearances by trash like Charles RAngel on Hannity or Richardson or Reich. I don't want to see their faces or hear their voices. Is there no refuge?
Since it is proclaimed to be far Right already, I say make it so.

When the scumbags were waving weapons in his face for the camera you could tell who the man was and it wasn't the mask-wearing POS holding him. You knew he was the kind of man who wouldn't be saying much but if necessary would be laying out anyone out of line.
This only confirms what I recognized immediately. There was no fear in his eyes.

Quite true - and tomorrow, the NYT/CBS/CNN/ABC/NBC et. al. will lead with "...breaking news - memos are said to have surfaced that show the POTUS memo'ed the SECDEF to 'set it up'"

I missed the interview but, judging from the
way his family and friends have conducted themselves,
I have no doubt he behaved with dignity, pride, and
a lot of courage.
I hope he gets to meet President Bush. I REALLY hope
he gets to meet Gov. Haley. ;o)
