I can. There is no limit to collective stupity unconstrained by adult supervision. We see it all the time. Frat parties, Congressment, liberal newspaper reporters. Why do you think that Communism failed - the stupidity of collections of humans where the right of individual dissent was supressed.
This is a stain on this country's, and the U.S. Military's good name. However, unlike Sadaam Hussein and his cronies, our criminals WILL be brought to justice because of the checks and balences, honesty, and transparency in our system. We should all remember THAT, and repeat it to the salivating, hyperventilating media. The operable word here is 'swift' since the Dem's are using this as a talking point in an election year by trying to draw some kind of twisted 'equivalency' (Moral Relativism?) in the public's mind.
Nonetheless, given that this is a case that is still being investigated (Pretrial), the leaking of the photos is highly inflammatory and could actually aid the 'Defense'. I would love to know what clown in the Dept. of Defence is doing THIS and what he/she/it hoped to accomplish.
We, in this country, seemed to have forgotten a lot of the things that were common sense aspects of society's morals from days past. Slowly, inexorably, we are 'forgetting' our Western Heritage.
Then again, we don't have time for this stuff nowadays since kids are too busy learning how to put condoms on bananas and MORALS like the above-statement are have no place in todays school system since they may offend someone else's culture.
Sadly, 'Chivalry' is dead. Its being replaced by the crap on MTV like 'Jackass', etc. and Howard Stern.

I'm getting to the backside of 40 and never been married. I remember my girlfriend over 20 years ago (circa 1982, I think it was) calling me a "male chauvinist pig" when I opened a restaurant door for her one evening. Boy, was I young and stupid.
Perhaps these photos were taken so that the prisoners could be confronted with the photos later on. They would be told that unless they told what they knew the pictures would be displayed around their home town. I imagine the fear and shame this would provoke could loosen a lot of tongues.
