Although I think this is overblown and these hearings should not be held, we would NOT want our soldiers or kidnapped civilians to be treated this way.
We know they are, and worse, but that doesn't mean we should lower ourselves to their level.

It was the pictures that prompted him to try to delay. thought pictures would have bad effect on troops, perhaps resulting in death to our forces. These hearings have the potential to have even more bad effects -- how many GI's died as an indirect result of Kerry's 1971 testimony. At least Myers got the effects out on the table. How many GI's have you killed today Sen. Kennedy?

Gravely concerned that other Americans will have impulse to turn away. Risk losing public support of war unless quickly resolved. With all due respect to investigations, Americans deserve immediate answers. Asks Rummy to describe chain of command from guards to Sec Def. What agencies/contractors in charge? Did they have authority over guards?
