We should have insisted on term limits years ago. At the time, I thought the voting booth would take care of these problems. I was wrong.((Back and filling - catchup time))
Yes, for once, you were. The founding fathers never thought that this republic would come under the influence of permanent representatives.
It is up to us to pass a term limitation for Congressmen and Senators. Personally, I favor 8yrs for Congressman, 18yrs for Senate. Add to that a five year restriction on any lobbying, etc. activities at the end of public office - and I think media wonk ought to be included in that restriction, too, but that would probably be too difficult to enforce.

Reummy noting that 24 hour news and digital cameras make a new wrinkle in the information age - and it makes the military more complex.

LOL! That's okay! My soapbox topic is to get conservatives to challenge knee-jerk Bush-bashing comments. It is often interesting who else, in a group, comes forth as a silent conservative when one decides to break the code of silence - in a public school teachers' lounge, for example.
For the past quarter century, at least in the Blue states, conservatives have been more hidden than Christians in Ancient Rome. So lefties have felt completely in control of political ideas.

Rummey also just mentioned that before the secret report even got to the Pentagon it was leaked to the media.

After listening to how this investigation has been handled and what is being done, it seems clear that it
s being handled appropriately .These hearings were totally unnecssary. If the White House had released all the information on what and who and how this was going,we wouldn't be having these hearings. It's all being investigated the way it should be. They should have thrown this back in the media's face. The media ignored this story for 3 or 4 months and then went ballistic because "they dropped the ball" on the story. The Administration should have repeated that if the public didn't know about the abuses, it was the media's fault, because the information was out there, with the exception of the photos.

Stating that "we" have to protect the rights of the laws as well as the people in question.
Editorial: the rats want it both ways! Immediate information, and also hiding the information that hinders their actions.

a soldier suffering from "combat fatigue".In todays world a General LIKE PATTON could NOT exist. My uncle served under Patton, during the Invasion of Sicily, HE HATED HIM, and LOVED Bradley.
During one of my many question and answer sessions with him about the WAR. I asked Uncle Francesco WHO was the better General between Patton and Bradley, unhesitatingly he said PATTON....then he added he was the BEST GENERAL PERIOD....this from a man who lost his leg while serving under that "ROTTEN S-O-B" as he often referred to General Patton.

I am so mad and upset.
I just realized it's Friday

This is outrageous,
but not as bad as the Senate thus far.

Rummy keeps mentioning how someone in the media illegally obtained a classified document before he rec'd it (my words not Rummy's exact words)
And STILL no one is asking how CBS obtained it

Now that sounds like a Hillary! action, (putting on tin foil suit) which is a trial balloon to hurt the presidency, and see if this would hurt his poll numbers. If it sticks, then she makes her move to get Kerry out of the way, and she walks in in July.

Hillary Clinton could probably tell us how CBS got it. I doubt that she has stopped her criminal behavior just because she became a Senator.
