yes, ken, Myers has decorum, but he's stupid when it comes to manufacturing factual, specific, bada bing, bada bing soundbites. Sessions lobbed him a softball that would 1.2.3. explain what actions had already been taken, an opportunity to repeat the strongest evidence that there was NOT a cover-up, but Myers stuttered and stumbled.

I would not call that a good thing. These soldiers did untold damage to their fellow soldiers and to troop morale. They need to be punished severely.

Question: to Senator Jack Reed.
How many of your Democratic cronies have also 'used a leash' when visiting their dominatrix male/female ummm.. friends?
To: StriperSniper
Now that you mention it, I seem to remember hearing that he was a Kerry guy when he took the job. I remember hearing that he wasn't a Bush guy .. but I didn't know he was a Kerry guy

Bremer has the most to gain by leaking to the press; per his agreement made with John Kerry in February to come on board as a top advisor (to attack Bush Iraq War initiative) when he returns in June.Have you got any evidence for that?

Lieberman is still a liberal and a Rat, but he's pretty clear-eyed when it comes to the War on Terror. He sees that what we're doing is necessary and he will put the country's future ahead of partisan politics. I tend to lump him together with Tony Blair and Christopher Hitchens in that regard...leftists who are smart enough, and not blinded by partisanship, to see why things are happening and what needs to be done about them, at least in terms of foreign policy.

That's a pretty awful thing to say. You seem to be implying that he really doesn't care about the issues raised in this hearing, but that he's pretending to care so he can keep Bush in office over his true alliance to Israel.
I don't believe that this is the case.
To: cyncooper; Poohbah; Mo1
Poohbah and I have discussed this, too.
These photos were seized as EVIDENCE when this investigation STARTED in January.
Someone leaked them.
Not only is it bad for the war effort, but it also interfered with a criminal investigation...

OR he's setting something up. Not that I think that it is the case, but it could be that he has been approached by the party bigs who know Kerry can't win, and Hitlery probably scares them too. ;-)

FYI..the ONE good thing about these hearings is that NO American soldier convicted will ever serve time..The defense just has to show these hearings and claim undo command influence..Rummy mentioned that before.
I said on a thread the other night that the Libs would overplay this and of course they are doing that right now. Wait till the House session!
Expect Hillary! to be rather staid in her questioning after the obligatory bouquet she will throw to her Arab donor base.
To: cyncooper; TrueBeliever9
truebeliever9...please post a source for your allegation. You're quickly discrediting yourself w/o one.
To: maryz
Reed (D-RI): This is disastrous.
Rumsfeld: We will give you draft charge. Can call individuals.
Reed: First report: need unified strategy to collect info. Miller was in Gitmo; sent to Iraq. Does not think Maj Gens make policy.
Rumsfeld: Doesn't recall that policy came to him for approval. they knew from 9/11 had 3 issues: get them off the street; criminal prosecution; interrogation for info to prevent future attacks.
Steve Cambone, undersecretary for intelligence: had to see whether we had proper arrangements to gain intelligence. Large number captured; recommendations of Miller made to commander about interrogation -- get better coordination. Was not aware of using military police to enable interrogation -- objects to wording.
Rumsfeld: two different functions -- detaining and interrogating. Linkage between the two desirable for info to prevent, here, killing of our forces in Iraq. Can be put with bad connotation.

You have been bashing Rummy even before you manufactured an issue.
Mc Stain was doing the same.
