Homosexual Activists Left Speechless
TFP Student Action ^ | 05-03-04 | John Ritchie

It is extremely challenging for conservative college students to pop the bubble of political correctness that surrounds them, and when they do speak, you seldom hear about it.

But I have good news for you. More and more students are refusing to take assaults on family values sitting down. For example, on April 15, a young group of College Republicans at Shippensburg University, Pennsylvania, organized a day of support for traditional marriage.

Looking for reinforcements, the College Republicans invited members of TFP Student Action to join in their efforts.

Shippensburg College Republicans had a table inside the CUB Great Hall building, while TFP Student Action campaigned outside.

The night before the campaign was launched, the College Republicans chalked phrases such as: “Sign a petition to protect the sanctity of marriage” on campus sidewalks. A press release was also circulated far and wide and reporters from MBC and SUTV covered the event. Posters were strategically placed around campus alerting students to support traditional marriage and oppose its same-sex counterfeit.

In front of College Republicans’ table in the CUB Great Hall building, a large number of students flocked to sign a petition to protect the sanctity of marriage and family.

TFP volunteers distributing fliers outside the building were warmly applauded by many students, with statements such as: “Thank you for being out here,” “This is awesome” and “Keep up the good work.”

One student enthusiastically remarked: “These guys know what they’re doing.” “Yea, they’re like Special Forces,” replied his friend standing nearby.

However, the event drew the ire of some pro-homosexual students. “Our posters were torn down,” said Shippensburg University College Republicans president Walt Bair, unperturbed by the liberal opposition. Apparently some faculty members were also incensed at the event. When John Miller politely offered the Dean of Students a TFP flier, he rudely replied: “I don’t want that garbage.”

At the end of the day, TFP members gathered to pray three Hail Marys in thanksgiving for a successful event. Morality was upheld. The truth was spoken. God’s law was defended. And the homosexual activists at Shippensburg University were left… speechless.

“Our posters were torn down,” said Shippensburg University College Republicans president Walt Bair, unperturbed by the liberal opposition.

Too bad someone couldn't have photographed that, blown up the pic, and circulated it as "Liberals' Interpretation of Free Speech".

Next time, carry one of those one-time $8 cameras - you never know what you'll run across.

Well, praise God for the young TFP!

When you think hope is lost on college campuses for the Catholic Church, then the new ecclesial movements just keep popping up to remind you to press on for our Blessed Lord and Our Lady.

Excellent! The "squeaky wheel" froze up! I wish the pro-gay marriage advocates had the same reaction out here in Seattle during the Mayday for Marriage rally. Even with 20-25,000 conservatives inside these protesters were real cocky, lewd in front of our children, and danced around like they were something beyond special. I think their display is going to backfire...and hopefully as the Mayday rally continues accross our nation it will gain momentum to protect the sanctity of marriage.

This is where the battle has to be fought and won on the college campuses

FIRE is an excellent organization fighting for free speech on the campuses

Donating to them is the biggest bang you can get for the buck

The Dean of Students should be fired.

Even if he stays, he'll know that a proposal to ban conservative speech and silence defenders of traditional morality is a non-starter on his campus.

That's worth a lot in itself.

thanks for this Freep, I wish my esteemed college Cleveland State had a conservative Republican students group for me to do something so cool like this, I know how these students felt when it comes to feeling like a minority at your own university, God bless them for having the guts to do something like this, it gives me hope and more bravado to be just as vocal at the ultra-liberal faculty that I have to deal with every day, God bless TFP and God bless Free Republic, God bless America and may the heartless homosexuals become saved and learn that what they are doing is sinful and repent their sinful ways and see the light, for they are God's children just like us right-minded Christian folks, thanks Sta for the post, take care, with love, Frank, the blind Republican

Great post, but for one thing - - why isn't this scumbag "Dean of Students" named? Also, the initials "TFP" are (as far as I know) meaningless. What, if anything, do they stand for?

Thanks!

Hey!
Have you ever considered moving to a better university? Maybe Franciscan University in Steubenville? Our Uncle the Bishop is still there!

High praise. I've seen representatives of this group at the March for Life in DC, and it's an accurate description. Tradition, Family and Property bump.

The name of the intolerant Dean of Students at Shippensburg University is Dr. Roger Serr. And TFP stands for Tradition, Family and Property, the three pillar values of Western civilization, which this group defends and promotes so well. God bless these young courageous fellows!
