[history]
Steve Doocy was in Washington during the White House Correspondents Dinner. He also toured many of the Washington monuments with the rest of his family, and another visiting family.
He went to the after party at the Hay Adams hotel. His kids ran ahead of him, and got on the elevator. They went up ahead of him. But when Doocy went to push the elevator button it wouldn't work.
Kerry was at a wedding on the 10th floor, and had security shut the elevators off. As a result Doocy was separated from his kids for 20 mintues.

He could be sued for having the elevators stopped. Then go ahead and sue everyone who has SS protection.
Sue Bush, Laura, Cheney, Lynn, Condi, Rummy, Colin, ....The list goes on.
They do have SS monitoring the elevators and stairwells on every floor, if there was an emergency they would take care of it, or do you think that everyone should have access to our president through elevators and stairs?
Think.

But was it a USSS decision? Doocy's got a good head on his shoulders, he'd understand about the need for security. But I don't blame him for being steamed about being separated from his kids. Guess I'd just like to know who authorized what.
To: mewzilla
Why is Doocey allowing his children to run around the hotel without him in the first place?

Don't know. For me it would depend on how old the kids are. But I'd still like to know if this was done for legitimate security purposes, or just because Jean wanted to throw his weight around.
To: mewzilla
This is the way it's done. It's always been done this way.

The elevators you mean? The USSS always shuts them down whenever their charge is in a building? I'd understand that. I just want to hear it from them that that's what happened. Trust but verify :)
To: Hillary's Lovely Legs
There wasn't any security problem involved with this. Kerry didn't want to be forced to mingle with the little people.

Troll.
To: ConservativeMan55
First off, Woofie has been here 4 years longer than you and is a respected poster.
Secondly, tell me how many times you have been in a hotel with the president and secret service or had long term contact with the secret service.
You know nothing about how the secret service works and your comments are ignorant.

Wait...couldn't he have walked up the steps with the Secret Service. This doesn't really make too much sense. They're kids.

For me it would depend on how old the kids areWhen Doocey was talking about them--while interviewing another guest--he said they were teens. Don't know exactly how old they are. That's a range from 13 to 19.

Wait...couldn't he have walked up the steps with the Secret Service. The USSS also blocks the stairwells. No one is allowed to pass up or down in a building whenever their charge is moving.

I tried the link too and it only went to the Fox website where the story was supposed to be, but lo! and behold! the story wasn't anywhere to be found. The difference between you and me is that I didn't get bent out of shape because there was an error, whether it was the poster's fault, Fox's fault for removing the story, or Bush's fault. If the links don't work, I just move on to a new thread. I don't go ballistic because the link doesn't work. I've got more important things to use my energies on than having a conniption fit because a lousy link is bad.
To: mass55th
see #137...I did not have a fit, conniption or otherwise...I asked the man to fix it as others were doing the same as I ...wasting time looking for something that was not there....(See the original post)...If you did what this guy did or if anyone did what this guy did I would ask you or them to fix it. He refused
