Ashcroft sounds like an idiot. Based on the article, the game provides realistic consequences for bad behavior.

EA should be more responsible than turning the SIMS into an version of GTA-Vice City.

The article is in a directory labelled "rumormill," all its allegations are unsourced, and it's banner says "Mired" rather than "Wired." I suspect a parody, or at best wild-arsed guessing.

That's the way to bet.

This administration will do everything it can to make sure this garbage does not get into the hands of our children, said Ashcroft. And we wont stop until the last drop of immorality is drained from our movies, our music, our television, our radios, and yes, even our video games.
Does anybody believe this quote?

It's a Wired parody site. The article might be a parody but EA's plans for "The Sims 2" isn't that far off.

Ashcroft sounds like an idiot. Well, that's a given.
However this particular article is satire
This administration will do everything it can to make sure this garbage does not get into the hands of our children, said Ashcroft. And we wont stop until the last drop of immorality is drained from our movies, our music, our television, our radios, and yes, even our video games.
