"...O'Brien says Hamill suffered a gunshot wound to his left arm that appears to be infected..."
Hoping he heals quickly now that he can get medical attention.

Cool! The British SAS motto, "Who Dares Wins", comes to mind.

SNIPPED from the article you posted:
He identified himself, then led the patrol to the house where he had been held captive. The unit surrounded the house and captured two Iraqis with an automatic weapon, said the spokesman, Maj. Neal O'Brien.
THAT is soooooooooo KEWL! Kudos to OUR Military! I heard, recently, Mr. Hamill ran almost a mile to catch up with the Patrol Unit. That the Patrol Unit held their fire, verified Mr. Hamill's identify, THEN captured the thugs, is beyond perfect. THanks guys. God Bless America and God Bless you.

Most importantly, Thank God for answered prayer!

To help people understand this, remind them that many employees get extra money for working weekends and holidays and no one bats an eye about it...Quite right. I myself get a 10 % "night differential", and a 25% "Sunday premium", so folks out on "the sharp end", should get some consideration, and you'll hear no complaint from me...

He looked resigned to the fact he had been taken but I love how he handled the Australian journalist: My name is Thomas Hamill and that's all I have to say.

Yes, God be praised!! I had kind of given him up for dead after 3 weeks. I should have had more faith.
His escape reminded me of this from Acts Chapter 5. Very Biblical.
19 But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said, 20 Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life. 21 And when they heard that, they entered into the temple early in the morning, and taught. But the high priest came, and they that were with him, and called the council together, and all the senate of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought. 22 But when the officers came, and found them not in the prison, they returned and told, 23 Saying, The prison truly found we shut with all safety, and the keepers standing without before the doors: but when we had opened, we found no man within.

"I suspect he has a similar constitution to the boy in 'The Ransom of Red Chief'."
LOL, my good friend played that little boy in a touring company. She's a girl, but she got the part 'cause she was the only person small enough for the part. She had a great time being incorrigible.

Thomas Hamill, 13, left and his sister Tori, 12, listen as their mother Kellie Hamill, wife of former Iraq hostage Thomas 'Tommy' Hamill, tells reporters of her relief at finding out her husband had safely escaped his captors and was in the arms of Coalition forces prior to attending services at Calvary Baptist Church in Macon, Miss., Sunday, May 2, 2004. Hamill attended services with her family and was approached by many friends and church members following services. I did a Google search. The Browns were VERY close with LBJ - got their beginning in Austin. Maybe somebody should tell the liberals.
Not that it really matters.

To Paraphrase:
Free at last, free at last, Thank God Almighty he's free at last!
Congratulations to Mr. Hamill and his family. May they live happily for many years to come.
This is not a question of If, but When. We will prevail in Iraq and Afghanistan. Terrorists will be brought down to their knees. Thugs like Sadr, Hussein, Khamenei, and Bin Laden will pay dearly.
It is only a matter of time.
