FREE REPUBLIC ACTIVISM SEMINAR TO BE HELD IN NEW YORK CITY JUNE 5, 2004
May 1, 2004 | firebrand

Posted on 05/01/2004 5:44:12 PM PDT by firebrand

OK! It has finally come together.

The Tri-State Chapter of Free Republic will be hosting a Leadership Institute Activism Seminar from 9 a.m. to 3 or 4 p.m., Saturday, June 5, 2004, at

The Women's National Republican Club 3 West 51st Street (between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, at Rockefeller Center) New York, NY

We will be in the lovely Lincoln Room, which you can view at the WNRC site. The club has rooms available for overnight stays, if anyone should decide to make a weekend of it.

Los Angeles and Friva Las Vegas have already had these seminars, and the reports are excellent. It has been said that even unrehabilitated slot-machine players have enjoyed every minute of these presentations in spite of having looked forward to the casinos for weeks.

Here is a partial list of the topics that will be covered:

The Real Nature of Politics and Elections
Developing a Strategic Message
Motivating and Recruiting Volunteers
Building Coalitions
Targeted Voter Contact

The presentations will be activist-oriented and will fit in perfectly with our goals as activists. Even if we think we have become experts in some areas, there are always new aspects to think about and the focus of a professional to sharpen our wits.

The event will be presented by Dana Stevens, Grassroots Programs Coordinator for the Leadership Institute. Dana is from Savannah and is a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia. He has been involved in politics from an early age, and most recently, before joining the LI, was on the staff of Congressman Jack Kingston (now serving his sixth term as a Republican representative from Georgia's 1st District).

This is a crucial time for political endeavors, to say the least. We need every conservative to be on "active duty" and we need to be as well equipped as possible for the coming challenges.

Please take the time to sign up now on our secure link.

PAYPAL

Use the e-mail address nancy2003@sluggy.net to send the payment to once you get to PayPal. The cost is $70. If you prefer to pay by check, just freepmail me for the details.

See you in June!

It takes me double than that, but for you mayor, I'll go to the end of the world.

So here is a bump for you.

Would love to go, but lack the funds at this time. If I have a REAL job by then, however...

June 5 is a good day. It's the day I got married.

You just reminded me of mine.

Forty nine years this June 5th.
I just put a reminder on the calendar. - Tom

Consider making a long-weekend vacation out of it. It's a beautiful time of year in the city.

A thank-you-for-the-state-ping-lists bump.

Any chance you DC activists can come up and learn some new tricks?

It's moving day for me and I'm going to try and arm-twist some of our DC Chapter's manly men to help move my stuff.

You may get a rush of DC Chapter members signing up after this news.

;-)

Is the FR Booth tied up for this event or is it available for the Texas State Republican Convention June 3-5?

Hmm, was just at a conference over the weekend with the founder of the Leadership Institute. Wish I'd known to ask him about this :-)

I'll try to get there... at least to drop in with a large bag of Krispy Kremes :-)

maybe you can find a nyc freeper who will put you up for a night at their place or maybe a youth hostel or YMCA.

Hey, I'm 17 blocks away and it's about 17 hours of driving for me -- at least at rush hour.

So take a train or something :-)

I have the number of the local youth hostel. It is cheap, and there is no age limit, despite the name. You do have to reserve in advance, though. It should still be OK for that weekend. Freepmail if you want the number.
