OK! It has finally come together.
The Tri-State Chapter of Free Republic will be hosting a Leadership Institute Activism Seminar from 9 a.m. to 3 or 4 p.m., Saturday, June 5, 2004, at
The Women's National Republican Club 3 West 51st Street (between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, at Rockefeller Center) New York, NY
We will be in the lovely Lincoln Room, which you can view at the WNRC site. The club has rooms available for overnight stays, if anyone should decide to make a weekend of it.
Los Angeles and Friva Las Vegas have already had these seminars, and the reports are excellent. It has been said that even unrehabilitated slot-machine players have enjoyed every minute of these presentations in spite of having looked forward to the casinos for weeks.
Here is a partial list of the topics that will be covered:
The Real Nature of Politics and Elections
Developing a Strategic Message
Motivating and Recruiting Volunteers
Building Coalitions
Targeted Voter Contact
The presentations will be activist-oriented and will fit in perfectly with our goals as activists. Even if we think we have become experts in some areas, there are always new aspects to think about and the focus of a professional to sharpen our wits.
The event will be presented by Dana Stevens, Grassroots Programs Coordinator for the Leadership Institute. Dana is from Savannah and is a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia. He has been involved in politics from an early age, and most recently, before joining the LI, was on the staff of Congressman Jack Kingston (now serving his sixth term as a Republican representative from Georgia's 1st District).
This is a crucial time for political endeavors, to say the least. We need every conservative to be on "active duty" and we need to be as well equipped as possible for the coming challenges.
Please take the time to sign up now on our secure link.
PAYPAL
Use the e-mail address nancy2003@sluggy.net to send the payment to once you get to PayPal. The cost is $70. If you prefer to pay by check, just freepmail me for the details.

Please forgive me for the interruption and for the typeface, but we need all FReepers, their friends, lovers, enemies, relatives, spouses, exes, acquaintances, strangers, debtors, creditors, colleagues, bosses and subordinates to sign The Federalist's petition to save Don Rumsfeld!
Thank you!
We now return to the regularly scheduled thread.

We shouldn't even need a petition for this. Good grief. If anybody just thinks about it . . .
But I will sign.

You've welcome for the lists.
Sorry that I can't attend the seminar. I would love to go, but personal reasons (apart from helping tgsl on Saturday and the ANSWER Saturday event) will keep me from going.

"The Women's National Republican Club just happens to have this very kewl old building..."
Yes, it is very kewl! I was there once for a pro-life thing. There is some OLD money sunk into that place. Those are the folks that were republicans before it was cool to be a republican.
I hope I can make it to this, sounds excellent.

Thank you, EdReform. The Internet is truly a two-edged sword: gives you publicity but draw the flies as well.
