Issue a patch, and some cubicle dwelling acne-scarred dweeb who desperately needs a date develops a worm to exploit the hole the patch was meant to patch.

Ever wonder how many people die in emergencies in hospitals and law enforcement every time a virus or worm is set loose for some deviant's queer pleasures?
New federal statues have high punishments for hackers and web freaks.
I suggest a surviving family member or spouse will take more instant and permanent solutions in hand.
My preference is teaching them to swim in shark tank at a theme park.
One time PETA and I might agree.

Received an email sent to me from someone on Roadrunner that had that virus removed as an attachment before it got to me -- don't know the person who sent it so I forwarded the email back to RR. I didn't even know RR still existed until a short time ago.

I use Norton. Do I have to disable Norton to use the McAfee tool?

one symptom is that your pc will reboot without your intent... How is that different from Windows' normal operation?

Just so you will know -- when I clicked on your link McAfee came up with that file is infected with a virus. As soon as I didn't download, McAfee said the file was not found.
So what is the deal? Why would a link you put up have a virus with it in the file?

Ever wonder how many people die in emergencies in hospitals and law enforcement every time a virus or worm is set loose for some deviant's queer pleasures? Actually, I'd like documented proof of just one death that could have been prevented because of a computer virus or worm etc... Just one.
Now, deaths caused by buggy software, on the other hand, I can name several. The Atomic Energy Corp of Canada, Patriot Missile Batteries, and Airbus come to mind immediately

My office computers are up-to-date on all virus definitions etc.
However, at home I use an old Windows 95b computer with old Outlook Express software. Are these old versions subject to these virii and worms written for these latest/newest Windows software versions?

WILL YOU PLEASE NOTE POST A LINK TO A VIRUS? Why do you continue to do this? You're not helping anyone.

I think that link actually is a trusted test site that lets you know if your antivirus software has been compromised...so if you were told it is a virus, you are "working".
