"Fox News Sunday's" Chris Wallace announced Friday that he's planning to respond to ABC "Nightline" host Ted Koppel's decision to air photos and names of GI's Killed in Iraq, calling Koppel's broadcast "a stunt."
"I think it is such a stunt," Wallace told WRKO-Boston radio host Howie Carr.
"I will just say one thing to all of your listeners," he added. "Watch 'Fox News Sunday' this Sunday because we are going to have our response to Koppel and 'Nightline.'"
Wallace refused to be more specific about his plans for Sunday's show, but told Carr his response would be "a corrective."
"It's not a stunt, it's a corrective. It's what Fox News was invented to be, which is, we're different than the other guys and we're going to give you the other side of the story."
Pressed by Carr, Wallace elaborated just a bit. "We have an announcement we're going to make about Mr. Koppel and 'Nightline' and their show - and our response to it."
Asked if he was "declaring war on Ted Koppel on Sunday morning," Wallace told Carr, "You'll see. Some people may think it's that. . . It's going to make some news."

"Oh can't wait for this one! Thank you Foxnews!"
Yes, kudos to Fox and their moral challenge to ABC,Koppel, et al. . .
That said; I hope they decide to make their program a 'celebration' of all the soldiers who are sacrificing to make this war a 'win'.

"As far as I'm concerned despite his valliant behavior in Vietnam he has succumbed to the evil of vanity and is a Judas."
I think Kerry always had a 'judas within'; and think that is reason enough to give scrutiny to Kerry's war record. . .and with that, I believe his behavior was less than valiant and even less than admirable. . .and his choices, reflected a man of less than noble character.
The real truth of John Kerry (the Judas you refer to. . .) emerges more obviously, by way of his public personna; in his post Vietnam endeavors.
When I think of Kerry and 'character'; Purple Heart altruism et al; I think of how you cannot get 'blood from a turnip'.
And we are not going to get it from Kerry. . .nor did we.

Indeed I did; though did not drop a line; just imagined one!
That said; we are on the same page in any event; re Kerry. . .and McCain.

"Turmoil" means confusion. It implies that the US doesn't have a plan.I think turmoil is just fine. There is confusion, and that is made evident by the shifting details of the plan. Is the Rep. Guard general going to head the Iraqi militia or not? Have the marines fallen back in Fallujah or not? Is the mission accomplished or not? Are we liberators or not? WMD's or not? Somebody's confused, but it isn't Mr. Wallace.

You should have listened to Gen. Kimmitt this am. He was very clear that the problem is with the propaganda we get from our press.
If you choose to believe what you read in our Leftist media, then there isn't any argument you will believe.
To: St.Chuck
Whoops - I got my Generals confused. I was remembering Myers.
To: speekinout
I did hear Gen. Kimmitt, and he didn't seem to make anything any clearer. The bottom line is that the introduction of Baathist leaders is necessary because the U.S. doesn't have the will to do the dirty work necessary to reign in the thugs in that barbaric land. On that count the "plan" was ill-conceived.
He was very clear that the problem is with the propaganda we get from our press.
I agree and Fox News is one of the most propagandist. Pay close attention to the Kristol-Hume tag-team. They are very good.
To: speekinout
LOL- I followed you over the cliff of error. It was Gen. Myers who was interviewed this morning by Mr. Wallace.

Maybe we could be hired as journalists. :o)
To: St.Chuck
Yeah, making mistakes does qualify us as journalists! :-)
Even more so if we were lying on purpose.
But we can't forget that the goal is to turn sovereignty over to the Iraqis at the end of June. And that means that the Sunni, the Shia, the Kurds, and the Christians all have to be part of the gov't.
There's no way we would have known exactly how to do that a year ago, and I'm not so sure we can yet. But we do have to get there, even if it takes ducks and feints to get there.

Thanks for posting this list. It seemed like a lot of people just thinking three followed by three zeros, but scrolling down through all three thousand or so individual names of the victems was a real wake up call.

I remember sufferring through a speach at some event by Bill Clinton. As he left the stage, the band behind him started playing, "Charley Brown, he's a clown. He's gonna get caught, just you wait and see...." It was priceless!

Thanks for your work.
