Abizaid said all military options remained "on the table."
As many have previously stated, this could save some lives on our side if they (Iraqis)can do the work.
I appreciate your posts and attitude Eurotwit.

Just got this note from a friend and it included some interesting quote from the Koran...
No other nation, except Israel, has more history and prophecy associated it than Iraq.
And also...
This is something to think about! Since America is typically represented by an eagle. Saddam should have read up on his Muslim passages... The following verse is from the Quran, (the Islamic Bible)
Quran (9:11) -- For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced; for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah; and there was peace.
(Note the verse number...)

Iraqis cheered and waved flags as Saleh entered the city Friday ...Which, of course, means he is one of the enemy.

A few weeks ago,
nobody -- not even 'Rats! --
believed that nonsense
comparing Iraq
to Vietnam. Every one,
now, is wondering --
either out loud or
in their heart -- Oh-my-God, is
Iraq Vietnam?
To: el_texicano
THIS IS FALSE!
Do NOT believe this.
It has been disproven.

Zarqawi is not in fallujah. if he were, if any of the intel or intercepts or drone video surveillance had shown that, we would have hit it much harder. also, we've had fallujah cordoned off and bottled up for weeks now - yet the terror attacks continue. Zarqawi isn't there.

Thanks No Blue States.
As another European said before me, "This is not time to go wobbly."
There is much made about European appeasement, and rightly so. But, this war will be won or lost in America, and I hope America is up for it.
Cheers.

" "So we will have to eliminate that enemy in a way that does not allow that force to challenge us throughout Iraq and other places at other times. No doubt some will infiltrate out, and some will find other means to escape," he said. " Thats a big step back from saying we are going in to destroy them.
" The omission suggested that commanders hope the new force led by a former Iraqi major general will neutralize Baathist insurgents"
Or that the new force will be the Baathist insurgents.

oops.... guess I should learn to read the whole thread before posting.

it depends on which people are cheering. not all the residents of fallujah are insurgents or terrorists. it would be perfectly legitimate for them to want to see one of their own people in charge of security.
we'll know whether Saleh is one of the enemy when and if the insurgents start celebrating in the streets with AK47s, and go unchecked. then we will know we've been had, and at that point, Bush will have to start firing some of these field commanders if indeed they are making these decisions.

"Origins: No, this isn't a legitimate quotation from the Quran (or Koran), the sacred text of Islam. The chapter and verse citation quoted above is a leg-pull, an obvious play on the USA's (the Eagle) launching of military action against Afghanistan and Iraq (the "lands of Allah") in response to the September 11 terrorist attacks on America organized by Osama bin Laden (the "son of Arabia awakening a fearsome eagle"). That the chapter and verse selection match the date of the terrorist attacks (9:11) is another giveaway to the joke." Snopes Urban Legends
