Rush was RUDE today!!!!!!

I am SO ANGRY at Rush Limbaugh right now!! In his last segment he really bashed and basically made fun of people who have Autism or Asperger's Syndrome. He apparently has not done " his homework" on this one.He read from a article, but I didn't hear who had written it. My granddaughter and husband both suffer from Aspergers.It has been a very difficult journey for our daughter and son in law. Rush will get LOTS of angry emails concerning this!!!

All parents need to be responsible for their children, with or without disabilities. These days if you have a rough patch with one who has disabilities(which may really just be divergent priorities), the mainstream idea is that the school, doctor, hospital, or county social services department is to be your saviour and solution.

Those agencies and institutions are funded to be your saviour, but in reality, they are minimal assistance at best. You've gotta tackle it on your own.

Ever been grocery shopping at midnight? Most the people taking their time, buying a full order of groceries are parents of children with disabilities. It's the only time you can get enough peace and quiet to do it, that being when they are sleeping and another parent is at home.

If we had had my son when I was in my twenties, it would have destroyed me. He's a gift in my fourties.

And he also said today that Teddy 'Chappaquidic' Kennedy's tirade on the Senate floor was akin to driving drunk with the RAT campaign as passenger as it sunk into the river...ROFLMHO.

Yeah Rush sure sounded angry when he made that statement. I think he said it 3 times so they could get the quote right.

I have a friend who has a child with this. She gets frustrated with people who don't understand. They think the child is just misbehaving and she's a bad mother because she can't discipline right or something. Rush messed up!

Sandra, you hit the nail on the head here.There are so many that say " can't you do something with that misbehaving child", or you hear talking under their breath like " poor diciplining", " get a handle on that kid"....and people just don't get it! I still can't figure out what the point Rush was making by reading the article if his intent was not to make fun of Aspergers. Oh well.....on to Kerry and bigger issues I guess! LOLOL!!!

This was at the tail end of his 3rd hour. I usually like Rush, but yes, I DO turn him off when he gets to me. This was just too close to home !!

I really didn't mind Rush expressing his opinion on the way the writer wrote his thoughts but I got highly annoyed and changed stations when Rush kept repeating, "@ss-burger, @ss-burger, @ss-burger, @ss-burger, @ss (pause) burger." I wasn't in the mood to listen to someone being juvenile.

I never made fun of little kids or sick people. I have lost patience with the SOMA crowd that wants to medicate you everytime you feel blue, or nervous. I know what you mean. Sean Hannity makes me mad and sometimes and just completely gets on my nerves. So on my ride home from work, many times I just pop in a CD instead of listening to him. For the most part I like listening to Rush. He makes me laugh much more than he makes me mad, but I do understand that is a serious subject matter for him to joke about.

If these people are getting help and treatment they need and it is improving peoples lives, who is Rush to judge? If he wants to go through life living in the dark ages so be it, but why judge others who get treatment if it actually works and helps them?

More and more children are being "diagnosed" with all these special needs things because a lot of federal money given to the schools is based on how many "special needs" students a school has.

Incomes are fudged also to get more money for breakfast and lunch programs. The more kids from households with low incomes...the more federal money.

It's kind of like that fictional town in Prairie Home Companion where "all the kids are above average"... only in reverse.

It's a scam.
