Today: President Bush received Swedish Prime Minister Goran Persson in the Oval Office to discuss regional diplomatic and security issues.

He told the press U.S. military commanders will take whatever actions are necessary to secure the besieged Iraqi city of Falluja.

After his recent strong statements supporting Israel, Mr. Bush is considering giving written assurances to Jordan's King Abdullah that the issue of Jewish settlements and Palestinian refugees will be decided in negotiations.

Tuesday: Mr. Bush spoke about improving the nation's health care system and saving lives through support of health information technology while visiting a Veteran Affairs Center in Baltimore, April 27.

Heads up: Tomorrow President Bush and Vice President Cheney will answer questions from the 9/11 panel behind closed doors, with no record or transcript by an official stenographer. Testimony will not be under oath.

You are a Girl Scout leader? I commend you for your dedication. I did that for a couple of years, and it is quite a challenge, but sure has it's rewards too. I remember my Brownie and GS leaders to this day with great admiration. I thought they walked on water at the time! :-)

Oh wow Pippin! I bet you were so disappointed! But how exciting at the same time! I know how you feel.
During the campaign of 2000, I was called by one of the big wigs at Bush headquarters and told that he was making an unexpected stop in Fresno. She asked me to please get on the phone and call all the people on my list so we would be sure and have a crowd.

She assured me I would get among the first tickets to get inside where he would be speaking for doing this! Needless to say, after I spent all morning on the phone, when I went to get my tickets, they had none left! I was so upset!!!!!! Maybe this campaign we both will get to see him!!!!! He wants to see us, you just know he does! :-)

Yep, I have a Junior Troop and a combined Cadette/Senior Troop. We have a lot of fun together and do some great things together. Been a leader for..... oh, about 7-8 years now, I guess. Going canoeing and hiking with the older girls this summer and camping with the younger ones.

It is a challenge, but it's been worth it.

We've been having a lot of success on the care packages for the Wounded thread. The Navy flew a bunch of our stuff out to Iraq yesterday and more going on Friday. MoJo2001 is doing a fabulous job of coordinating it.

President Bush would be pleased, I think.

They said the operation was less than optimal in the announcement and to be patient ,had to do fine tuning,but I realized how much better than it was before as far as hitting post and something happening faster!
