You are a Girl Scout leader? I commend you for your dedication. I did that for a couple of years, and it is quite a challenge, but sure has it's rewards too. I remember my Brownie and GS leaders to this day with great admiration. I thought they walked on water at the time! :-)

Yep, I have a Junior Troop and a combined Cadette/Senior Troop. We have a lot of fun together and do some great things together. Been a leader for..... oh, about 7-8 years now, I guess. Going canoeing and hiking with the older girls this summer and camping with the younger ones.
It is a challenge, but it's been worth it.

I remember my Brownie and GS leaders to this day with great admiration. I thought they walked on water at the time! :-) That is so true in my life too. I still think of them from time to time all these decades later. Some of them were better leaders than others but they all seemed god-like to me at the time. And it made such an impression on me that these leaders were mothers of my peers, not strangers imported or hired to do a job. I remember feeling what a vast difference they had in our grade school world compared with our teachers. We listened to them in a much deeper way, possibly in part because they were so involved in teaching us hands-on projects.
Some of my best childhood memories were centered in Girl Scout activities (excepting dragging all those cookies from block to block!).
