Spanish troops wave while driving towards the Kuwaiti frontier in a convoy of 33 vehicles from their bases in the Najaf and Diwaniya area of Iraq (news - web sites) April 27, 2004. Reversing the Iraq policy of his pro-U.S. predecessor Jose Maria Aznar, Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero's first decision after taking office was to announce he was pulling Spanish troops from Iraq as soon as possible.

Let's not blame the Spanish soldiers.
The new socialist "leader" of Spain is the appeaser.

Is that the 'V' for victory or the old '60's peace sign.
In either case, neither fits the siutation for these men.

They shouldn't be smiling. The appeasing is encouraging the terrorists.

Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero will now need them to guard and defend Madrid. If Zapatero thinks Spain is safe from terrorists, Zapatero is living in a dream world. Zapatero's policies and positions have given terrorism an open door.
Zapatero will probably learn soon enough that you can't trust terrorists.

I have nothing against their soldiers.
Just the cowardice of their government.

Due to the appeasement strategy of their leaders, I have no doubt they'll be bringing the conflict home with them.
Now their families will get to see, up close, what they do for a living.

Nothing good will come from appeasing evil. It only strengthens them. They see this as a victory and it is.

I've read that the Spanish military feels humiliated to be ordered out of Iraq. I've read that they are ashamed of their new leaders.
These guys don't look humiliated or ashamed. They look relieved and happy.

I was just talking to my wife about this yesterday. We agreed that it must be awful these days to be a french or spanish soldier. It's not their fault at all that their leaders are such snot drooling wimps. Look at it this way. If sKerry were to be elected, within a short period of time he'd be doing the same thing to our Marines! Go Mr Bush!

Pulling a Spain. Not descriptive enought.
Instead, let's call it

The V sign stands for "verguenza," the Spanish word for shame.
