My apologies if a thread already exists. I did a search on "Toomey" and found nothing.
I arrived at my polling area (suburban Philadelphia) at 6:45 am to hand out palm cards. The weather is terrific this morning, but turnout (I thought) was light (I had to leave at 9:15, but will be back).
Actually, I have a good feeling about Pat.

Just talked to Joe Montone's Campaign Manager and he reported turn out is light in Bucks county.

No, it means that God has different plans for Toomey. Can God's plans for Toomey be changed by prayer?

For those who haven't made it to the poll yet, let me ask fellow freepers to also vote for the real conservative in the AG race - BRUCE CASTOR! I dunno, he seemed to throw a bit of a hissy fit when he didn't get the county and state endorsements. I read quite a bit about it at the time and was not impressed. And I haven't heard that Corbett is anything other than a good guy, and a solid candidate to boot.

Thanks for starting a live thread. I'm looking forward to picking up a 6-pack of Yuenglings after work and following this one very closely. Go Pat!

No, it means that God has different plans for Toomey. Can God's plans for Toomey be changed by prayer?By the people who are actually praying? Without a doubt. They would be more motivated to make a difference. As for what the turnout of this is, you'll have to ask God yourself.

When I showed up to vote at 7:10 a.m. a gentleman said, "We'd like to keep Arlen Specter's experience if we could." I said, "I'd like to lose activist judges if I could." That conversation was short.
Shalom.

That is not a possibility? I dislike Specter but without
Penn. GWB might be in deep dodo
Can Toomey win the general election.

Can God's plans for Toomey be changed by prayer? Of course they can, one way or another. Jesus prayed to "let this cup pass from me" but ultimately "your will be done", and that is how we pray as well.
Or are you just deriding Christianity?

If Toomey loses by 5, it will be b/c of Bush's support for Specter, not fraud.
It could be because of Specter getting down on his knees and begging the unions to change their registrations to Republican and voting for him. What kind of promises did Specter make to the unions to get their support? Your hero licks the shoes of liberal unions. I remember Bork, do you?

GWB did not carry PA the last time around... Specter could not deliver. Can Toomey deliver PA? Who knows, but he can't do worse than Specter!

Is there anything else statewide on the ballot today? AG is also on the ballot today.
Sen. Santorum is supporting the incumbent, which almost single-handedly caused me to vote for the challenger.
Shalom.

So if Toomey loses, what does that mean? That God likes Specter more?
No but it could mean too many Christians are too unconcerned to vote.
And the Christians that do vote are not in tune with the Will of God.

I live in the Harrisburg area and just caught the 12:00 news. They said the turnout in Cumberland County was surprisingly high and attributed it to the Toomey-Spector race. Cumberland County is one of the most conservative regions in the country so this is good news. They also interviewed some worker from a polling place in East Pennsboro. He said that there was confusion because some voters didn't quite understand that it was a primary and you could only vote in your parties primary. I can just see all these old Democrats coming out to vote for Spector and not finding him on their ballot and moaning about it.
To: ArGee
I hope the "gentleman" you were talking to (who said "we" want to keep "Spectre" if "we" can) was NOT a poll official!

Looks like the electoral landscape changed so much since 2000 that GWB has to show big throughout Penn/Ohio/area to win this year.

Can Toomey win the general election.Conventional wisdom says no, but Specter has no base and the opponent is a dyed-in-the-wool liberal with no name recognition.
I don't think Toomey would do worse than Specter.
To: Physicist
Can God's plans for Toomey be changed by prayer? The official answer is "Yes and No."
If you're into Quantum Physics, that answer should work for you.
Shalom.
