My apologies if a thread already exists. I did a search on "Toomey" and found nothing.
I arrived at my polling area (suburban Philadelphia) at 6:45 am to hand out palm cards. The weather is terrific this morning, but turnout (I thought) was light (I had to leave at 9:15, but will be back).
Actually, I have a good feeling about Pat.

Is there anything else statewide on the ballot today?

MacSpector didn't deliver the state for W in 2000, so what good would it do if he DID win?

So if Toomey loses, what does that mean? That God likes Specter more?

Thanks (though I expect certain wards around Pittsburgh and Philadelphia to stay open far past 8 in a move almost always associated with DemonRATs).

I agree Phantom, just like any Democrat Specter has the ability to create 3-5 percent of the overall vote through fraud. If the race is within 5% on closing of the polls, Specter wins. Specter truly is a turd.Yes, whenever your candidate does not win, it must be because of fraud, right?
Last night I saw Specter's TV ads in which Bush declared his support for Specter. Very good ad, and very effective. I have spoken to a number of Pubs that are on the fence, but leaning towards Specter b/c of Bush's support (heck, that is the whole purpose of getting a sitting president to stump for you, right?). If Toomey loses by 5, it will be b/c of Bush's support for Specter, not fraud.

It would mean that God is judging PA and the USA.

But Santorum was at Specter's side Monday.
The pair campaigned together in Pittsburgh, Johnstown, Harrisburg and Philadelphia, where Santorum told reporters that Republicans should rally around Specter as he, Bush and the GOP establishment have.
Bush put his own prestige on the line last week by appearing at a Specter fund-raiser.
The event provided the Specter campaign with images for a last advertising blitz.
Republican voters are also hearing Bush's voice on automated get-out-the-vote phone calls.

Yep, Spector will defeat Toomey by 5-6% and he should be gald W and Rick .S were on his side.
W/0 W or R.S Tommey would have won this race by 3-4%

Attorney General race is statewide and bitterly fought:
Castor--Philadelphia area maverick, jilted by GOP establishment.
Corbett--Pittsburgh area official party candidate
Both are very conservative, the battle is personal.

Voted Toomey here in the land of Murrymom. Light turnout so far and mixed weather of rain, sun, wind, cold and more rain.

If turnout is truly light statewide, then that plays into Toomey's favor, I think, since his ovters are the ones likely to be the most loyal.

there are no exit polls in PA for this race.

For those who haven't made it to the poll yet, let me ask fellow freepers to also vote for the real conservative in the AG race - BRUCE CASTOR!

I agree 100% with your analysis (as usual LOL). Bush and Santorum are very big boosts to Spector.
The question is, is it enough to get Spector's supporters to the polls. Toomey's support as been very steady and his supporter's are motivated.
I am going to stick by my prediction that low turnout is good for Toomey (meaning it will be a dead heat that could go either way). A moderate turnout will tilt it 2-3% is Spectors favor, and a heavy turnout will produce the 6% win you are predicting.
Heavy turnout is a relative term here --in a primary, I would consider anything over 35-40% to be considered heavy, and anything in the mid thirties as moderate.
