ABC World News Now. April 27, 2004

In an interview broadcast by ABC's World News Now, the leader of the Al Qaeda cell organizing the explosive and chemical attack on the Jordanian security headquarters and the American Embassy in Jordan stated that he received his training from Al-Zawahiri in Iraq, prior to the fall of Afghanistan.

"You choose to let the perp walk free."

"I never accuse you in the analogy of letting SH go free."

Well, were you lying then, or are you lying now?

"you clearly have chosen in this discussion to not convict on the basis of similar evidence." - it is also amazing that you can malign someone else's reading comprehension and make this statement. The only thing I have claimed is that the piece of "evidence" that is the subject of THIS article is not conclusive evidence of anything. At no time have I even addressed the cumulative evidence of a connection, or the lack thereof. This is just one more thing you are making up.

"What does a war in Iraq have to do with 19 barbarians who came in the front door? How many gubmint paper shufflers have lost their pensions or have been put in prison for gross incompetence in providing security?

Turn off your tv."

My TV is off and will remain off.

What does Iraq have to do with the 19 hijackers? Do you really believe that after we embarrassed Saddam in Desert Storm that he was not looking for pay-back? Or do you think he was uninspired by what happened to this country on 9-11-01? He already had his troops firing on our pilots, he tried to have one former President killed. He spent 12 years thumbing his nose at everyone, and you think he would did not love seeing the attacks on this country and at the very least, wanted to duplicate them? Or do you think he could not duplicate attacks like that? Or do you think that he did not have the resources to duplicate those attacks? Why don't you turn off your tv and your monitor and actually do a little thinking on this subject rather than the knee-jerk, "I don't want to pay for it" line that you think is so convincing.

Man - you are so far away from being an "American Conservative" that you can't even use a telescope from where you are to see that position! There are days you would even give "Reactionaries" a bad name!

Read your own posts sometime!

As I said, I have no idea WHAT you actually are, but by stating in your post you are an "American Conservative", you most certainly stating something that is not remotely true.

As I said in #437:

"Get back on your meds and wait a month, then re-read my posts#301 and 307 again carefully. "

Possibly then you will be able to step back a bit from your "feelings" and realize the answer. Right now, you apparently do not have the mental state to comprehend what I was saying.

"You are merely regurgitating discredited tinfoil tales from a scoundrel, Ahmed Chalabi-- see tagline."

Didn't you try this line a couple days ago? You were wrong on that subject and you are wrong on this one. Why don't you answer my questions and comments directly rather than hiding behind "it is all Chalabi's fault".

I have never heard any of what I posted to you before. I thought of that myself based on evidence, not listening to someone else's analysis and following it over the hill like a lemming. Chalabi has nothing to do with my statements. Please show me a little respect since I am able and do think for myself.

You listed several discredited tinfoil hat theories that came from Chalabi's camp. That you care so little about your own country to investigate what it is that you think you know, I see no difference between you and the traitors within the government.

The Galts of the world just love to ignore the evidence.

We know Saddam worked with the PLO and other terrorists, he funded them. He at LEAST knew that 9/11 was coming.

Less than two months before 9/11/01, the state-controlled Iraqi newspaper “Al-Nasiriya” carried a column headlined, “American, an Obsession called Osama Bin Ladin.” (July 21, 2001)

In the piece, Baath Party writer Naeem Abd Muhalhal predicted that bin Laden would attack the US “with the seriousness of the Bedouin of the desert about the way he will try to bomb the Pentagon after he destroys the White House.”

The same state-approved column also insisted that bin Laden “will strike America on the arm that is already hurting,” and that the US “will curse the memory of Frank Sinatra every time he hears his songs” – an apparent reference to the Sinatra classic, “New York, New York”.

I never listened to Chalabi or his theories. I have quoted you from the Department of Defense website that showed that Salman Pak did exist and was destroyed. I have also given you MY opinion based on facts that have nothing to do with Chalabi, but based on public information.

Why don't you try to come up with your own theories based on facts? If you would do that, you will find that what you have been spewing is pure bull crap.

This news is akin to a newspaper correction on the 16th page in small print. THE ONLY WAY IT WILL GET ANY ATTENTION IS IF THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION MAKES IT A TALKING POINT AND REPEATS IT DAILY! Besides that, they should raise hell with the media for NOT covering the story and shout, "BIAS".

Thanks Peach.

I don't know how many of those links you posted I have already read, but I bet I have either read them or the equivilant from some other source.

The Galts of the world seem to think that allies are permanent. I look at allies more from a historical perspective, which means that they change according to the needs of those involved. It is unfathomable that some would risk their lives, the lives of their loved ones and everyone else just to believe that they are correct, in spite of all evidence that they are not.

This whole post begins with the words "Al-Queda-Iraqi relationship.

I am thinking you do not understand relationships between nations. Let me see if I can educate you a little with some history.

In our revolutionary war: England was the enemy, France was the ally. Now: France is no where to be found (or maybe with the enemy) and England is our ally.

Iran Pre-1979: Iran was our ally. Now: Iran is our enemy.

In WWI and WWII: Russia was our ally. During the cold war: Russia was our enemy. When Russia invaded Afghanistan: Russia was our enemy and those who fought the Russians were our allies, this included Bin Laden.

In the Iran/Iraq war: Iraq was our ally. Last year we took over their country to get rid of the exact same leader who we backed a couple of decades ago.

This is not unusual regarding allies around the world. This is more the norm.

Never say never on allies. It is a losing proposition, and in this case it is the lives of American citizens that lose when people like you spout your closed minded rhetoric.

I see we are interested in the same thing with regard to their relationship which goes back over a decade.

It's so provably true that it's rare to see someone on FR deny that AQ and Iraq had a relationship.

Yes, we are interested in the same thing here. I can not fathom people that refuse to add up the evidence and come to the conclusion that AQ and Saddam had some kind of working relationship, or some kind of alliance.

I used the word refuse because it is the only reasonable explanation. They are not refuting the facts, nor are they giving alternate theories. They just refuse to look at the facts, or they refuse to add them up.

I prefer to get educated on what is happening and I attempt to make as much sense out of it as possible. I also try to find verification when possible, and when not, look at refutation of articles or facts and see if they make sense. Sometimes that means that I just wait longer to see what else comes up. Other times it helps clarify the situation for me.

I am amazed at those who say that Saddam and AQ never would have worked together because they were so different. Kind of like the ACLU and the NRA. Oh wait, didn't the ACLU and the NRA team up together recently on some issue? Campaign Finance Reform maybe?

When it comes to organizations or countries working together I do not believe in saying never. They will prove me wrong every time. Going off of facts works much better.

Actually..Saddam sent them there to train, and do their terror thing and get at the Kurds..The Kurds fought against them with us(recall the Turks would not let us use them to launch attacks so we hit them too late..most got over the border, including Zarqawi).
