The closest "the Jews" have ever come to running the world is through the significant number of Jews that allied heart and soul with the ideology of communism in the last century. Sadly, many of them still refuse to disavow that allegiance, and that's exactly who this author is talking about.

By the way, I want to make it clear - I'm not claiming that Jews "ran" communism. There's nothing so inherently anti-Semitic in anything I said (I know there's a cottage industry just looking for such statements). My statement meant only this - that communism did come pretty close to controlling the world, and that many Jews did ally with communism, and that is, in the exact words I chose, "the closest "the Jews" have ever come to running the world". That doesn't mean I think they actually -came- any closer than any other ethnic group that allied just as strongly.

Although American Jews vote overwhelmingly Democrat, Jimmy Carter lost a significant percentage of Jewish votes when he ran against Reagan...probably because of his antisemitic statements in 1980.

I still have trouble believing that FDR got 90% of the Jewish vote in 1940, at a time when people were coming from Europe and knew what Hitler was doing.

There is a good book by Cahill (How the Irish Saved Civilization) on the Jews influence on history. In it he says that anti-Semitism is actually anti-God. I never thought of it that way, but there is a lot of truth. The God of Abraham and Israel (the man) is hard to attack while His people are not.

Same goes for believing Christians when they are attacked by liberals. It is God who is being attacked. God makes unbelievers (in the true God) uncomfortable.

I will say that all my liberal friends are dedicated church goers, but are horrified by the extreme intolerant social ideologues of the right. If the ideologues of the right would become more "big tent" and inclusive, the Republicans would rule for decades.

Thank you, Mr. Goldman. Every American Jew That values their life and the lives of their loved ones should read your piece. There is only one group of voters in the United States more stupid than American Jews, although Jews are headed to the top of the list of dummies, and that is American Blacks. For all these years they have been kept in the chains of economic slavery by the Democrat Party, and for all these years they have given their undying support to Democrat politicians that took advantage of their votes and gave them "crumbs" in return. Now, as Hispanics assume the title of the largest minority in America, the political power of Blacks will become more and more diminished. Add to the Hipanics, a growing Asian minority, and any objective observer can see Blacks have boxed themselves in. I fear, that if Blacks don't wake up and diversify their political power, they will remain at the bottom of the economic and social totem pole they have willingly chained themselves to for another fifty years! This need not be the case. The answer is right in front of their noses! As for Jews, I just simply think many American Jews hate being Jews and have an inner child "Death Wish" which I can assure you will be swiftly delivered by most eager Muslim terrorists (ala Daniel Pearl), right here in the good old USA! What fools!

Excellent article. It reminds me of an editorial written over a decade back by Ben Stein that also attempted to clarify and set a few things straight about strong Republican support for Israel versus the Democrats.

Unfortunately, it too was either not given a fair hearing or ignored by its target audience, since the the same thesis has to be put forward again today.
