I know of no Jew (or anyone else, for that matter) who believes that President Bush hates Jews. If this anonymous acquaintance of Dr. Goldman really does exist, then I think that needs Dr. Goldman's help in his capacity as a psychiatrist rather than as a political pundit.

Those people are nuts. Even more nutty are the liberal, "proudly Jewish," "Zionist" Jews like Dershowitz and Foxman who (like Pat Buchanan) cross the street when it comes to the Middle East while being basically Castroite in all other areas of the world and whose positions on Israel dovetail with President Bush's even as they attack him for "stealing" the election from their man Gore. These idiots will vote for Kerry in november while advocating Bush's policies. At least liberal, self-hating, anti-Zionist Jews are internally consistent.

Forget the conventional "leaders of the Jewish community." Recognize all Jews as a self-governing, autonomous, sovereign community under the direct authority of the Orthodox Rabbinate. Then let the "Zionist" and anti-Zionist Jewish liberals deal with it!
