"I will never cower before any master nor bend to any threat"

Two Chinese diplomats, away from their Los Angeles consulate improperly, recently sped their vehicle past a Los Alamos National Laboratory guard post near classified facilities in what U.S. officials think was an intelligence mission, The Washington Times has learned.

Fire Crews Called out to Contain Fertilizer Leak (I 10 Canifornia)The Desert Sun May 4th, 2004

A trailer leaking fertilizer at a truck stop near Interstate 10 prompted authorities to call out a hazardous materials team.

The daylong effort to isolate and clean the spill caused a stir at the Flying J truck stop in Thousand Palms and upset the driver who worried he wouldn’t get the fertilizer to its destination on time.

Driver Carlos Aguilar, who was hauling the fertilizer from Texas to Fresno, said he thought the commotion was a bit much for a spill that consisted of about 20 gallons of fertilizer….

Authorities believe Aguilar first noticed the spill as early as 8 a.m. Monday morning, but firefighters weren’t called until around 11:30 a.m., said Jerry Hendershot, a battalion chief with the Riverside County Fire Department/California Department of Forestry.

Hendershot said the truck contained about 40,000 pounds of liquid fertilizer that, if allowed to dry, could become flammable….

Hendershot said the cost of the hazardous materials team, about $1,000 per hour, and the contractor would be billed to the trucking firm, Jones Express, of Laredo, Texas.

The wait for the cleanup contractor came at an inopportune time for the fire department. The department was stretched especially thin because of wildfires near Temecula and Corona. Link Here

Pipeline Up and Running Again After Fuel Leak CBS5.com Staff

A diesel pipeline is up and running again just days after spilling thousands of gallons of fuel into Suisun Marsh. A break in the 14-inch pipe was discovered last week, about five miles east of Fairfield. About 60,000 gallons of diesel leaked into the water, killing 28 animals. Fourteen surviving birds were treated at a local wildlife center.

Workers replaced a 50-foot section of the pipeline, and it was back in operation Sunday afternoon. Meantime, clean-up efforts continued at the 242-acre marsh area. Link Here

The spill is one of many at area military installations over the past three years. Camp Lejeune had nine wastewater spills in 2002, five in 2003 and at least four this year

. Earlier this year, officials at Camp Lejeune were looking at why a sewer had broken three times in as many years near Cogdell's Creek, a tributary of New River. The 24-inch line carries much of the base's raw sewage. Link Here

So will teenagers who forget to take power cables out of the back of laptops before moving them. Once that power switch is ripped from the mother board, that laptop is toast!

On the I-10 story, which is it "they weren't called" or "inopportune time because of the fires"?

Now this reminds me of a story I heard last night from the LA news. They said over the weekend, Sunday to be exact there was a Cinco De Mayo (of course since we are now northern mexico) celebration at a park. Many suffered from heat exhaustion. The rescue crews were stretched to the limit!!!!! Well now if they can't handle a few heat stroke victims what will happen when there is an attack? It will not be a pretty picture, that's for sure.

Would it be easy to get the devices off the track, during the accident and leave with them?

The devices I recall seeing on the tracks are painted a bright yellow. I think they include a hasp and padlock to secure them to the rail...and prevent theft by unauthorized persons. The manual switch linkages include a padlock as well.

If the conversation content that was blurted out over the unsecured channel is credible, then being on the edge of your seat is appropriate.

My observation was intended to help sort the wheat from the chaff. The netted stations apparently believed they were discussing a very sensitive topic.

It seems that these different incidents of leaks, derailments etc. are taking place in what seems like clusters. There was a sentence in the article about the fertilizer leak about "once the chemical dried it was very flammable".

(My hypothosis)...If the Mexican truck drivers are working in conjunction with someone setting fires...would it be easy for one to dump some fertilizer....and once it had dried near a wooded area someone else could drop a match and start fires.

Stay safe.

So we might as well put some velcro strips on the seat edges !

I would imagine being kept in the dark about a comet impact would be SOP.

Guess all diets are off now;) Forget the velcro. Time to party?

Why. You tell me. Who has the power to call of investigations or redirect them.

Why haven't we touched Saudi investors, BinLadins and Americans who profited from 911,
