Whooping Cough Outbreak (South Carolina) Saturday May 01, 2004 11:41pm Posted By: Angela May Anderson, SC - Health officials say a whooping cough outbreak has started in Anderson County.

The county has reported 16 cases this year. That's half of all the whooping cough cases seen across the state and more than twice the number reported in the area in all of 2003.

The Department of Health and Environmental Control has tracked the outbreak to two people. A team of nurses have reached at least 200 people who were in close contact them. Officials say a number of tests are still at the lab, so more cases may be found. Link Here

Police Find Counterfeit Visas, Passports (Framington Mass.)

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- Framingham police said what appeared to be counterfeit passports and visas were found in a car that was pulled over because of a defective taillight, and the driver was arrested and eventually turned over to federal officials.

Claudio Pereira, 31, of Framingham, was arraigned on Thursday in Framingham District Court on charges including operating a vehicle with a suspended license and providing a false name to a police officer. Pereira then was handed over to U.S. State Department personnel......

Train Crash Injuries Three

May 3, 2004 -- Three people were injured when two trains collided head-on on a Union Pacific track south of downtown San Antonio today.

The predawn accident happened at a u-p bridge over the San Antonio river just west of where Saint Mary's Street and Roosevelt Avenue meet.

Union Pacific spokesman Mark Davis says a southbound u-p freight train was switching tracks when it slammed into a northbound u-p freight and derailed.

Two locomotives and 12 freight cars of the southbound train derailed.

Davis says both engines and five cars toppled into the river.

Broadcast reports say more than five-thousand gallons of diesel fuel spilled into the river, drawing hazardous-materials specialists to the scene.

Two crew members of the southbound freight and a homeless person under the bridge were injured.

Davis says the engineer suffered a broken ankle, while the conductor had a broken wrist.

He says the homeless person suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The wreck has closed Roosevelt and Saint Mary's, as well as a few other neighborhood streets.

I was just outside my building in Old Towne, Alexandria, VA(suburb of Washington, DC) and noticed 2 low flying F-16 fighter jets fly by. I remember this happening about a month ago, but that, I eventuqally found out was for a photo shoot. Today's weather(gloomy/rain) is definitely not optimal for photo ops. Have searched the web, no results...

Geomagnetic Storms Have Occurred All Week; and More…05/02/04

Call me hyper-vigilant, but I find it unusual for a series of ten C-Class flares have occurred over the last ten days. What concerns me, is not the fact of several C-Class flares occurring, but the size and strength of geomagnetic storms which have been occurring and is forecast to continue for some days. It has not been reported by me, or mainstream news because it has been a steady stream just below the radar. This is to say, I, as well as those in the space weather field, generally do not report on solar activity below M-Class flare rating. See Chart: http://www.n3kl.org/sun/images/noaa_xrays.gif? But that is going to end. As you can see from the GOES chart, there are two C-Class flares that “touch” the M-Class threshold, in the last two consecutive days. There are seven more just like it.

There was a coronal mass ejection (CME) produced by yesterday's C-Class 9.5 flare, which came from sunspot region 601. And it was “Earth Directed”. Yes folks, we took this one head on. The past ten day solar activity has undoubtedly been the source of the “freak weather” which has been recorded. From “record breaking heat” to freak tornadoes and extreme hail storms. I wish I could tell you it has come and gone, but the forecast is for more of the same. Watch for continued “rapid temperature shifts” within the next 48 hours. Severe storms, high winds, hail and possible tornadoes are likely to occur.

Equation: Sunspots => Solar Flares => Magnetic Field Shift => Shifting Ocean and Jet Stream Currents => Extreme Weather and Human Disruption (mitch battros)

I'm worried too. But I'm wondering if Bush and Co. aren't trying to smoke her out, and get her to run this year.

Bush is strong enough to take her on and will probably win. OTOH, if she waits till 2008, it would be an open field with no incumbent running, and she would stand a much better chance.

I hope she goes for it this year.

So the rest of us have to absorb the costs, so they can get away with this. Religion should stop at the business sector. Shouldn't there be some sort of separation of mosque and business, like church and state?

This is typical. We are getting scammed right and left by people in this country, who use fraud etc., and send the proceeds to the ME to fund terrorism against us.

Now we have to also pay more ourselves to eventually cover the extra that this will cost at banks.

Where does it end? And when??? Wake up, America!

So, if the Muslims don't pay interest on home loans as part of this program that partners with the FDIC, which would remain solvent with federal funds if insolvency issues arose, doesn't this mean that U.S. taxpayers are footing the bill for the Islamic community's beliefs? Another instance of our rights being stripped from us by do-gooders.
