I recal about a dozen or so years ago that Diane Feinstein said abortion for sex selectionwas wrong, and wow did they snap her back in line fast.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Laura Bush, the wife of President-elect George W. Bush, said Friday she believes the country could do more to minimize the number of abortions, but also indicated she doesn't believe the 1973 Supreme Court ruling legalizing abortions should be overturned.

"No, I don't think it should be overturned," Mrs. Bush told NBC's "Today Show" when asked about the high court's decision, Roe vs. Wade.

Mrs. Bush did not respond in the interview when asked if a woman had a right to an abortion. Instead, she said the country should do "what we can to limit the number of abortions, to try to reduce the number of abortions in a lot of ways, and that is, by talking about responsibility with girls and boys, by teaching abstinence, having abstinence classes everywhere in schools and in churches and in Sunday school," she replied.

Interesting that she would put it that way. She is trying to sound like she supports abortion but doesn't support it.

Interestingly, when polled with the question: "Should would be able to have abortions?" a majority of women say yes.

But when you ask, "Should women be able to use abortion as a form of birth control?", the majority say no. Similarly when asked, "Should a 13 year old girl be able to get an abortion without the consent of her parents?", a vast majority also say no.

Another GOOD reason NOT to vote for Kerry. She simply would not make a good first lady. She is not well-spoken and seems to like to interject a few expletives now and then.

The only thing positive about her, according to this article, is that she seems to have a "little" understanding that just "maybe" it isn't such a good thing to end a baby's life. At least that is more than a lot of the pro-choicers feel. She just may have a twinge of a conscience.

For all of her money and obvious influence, though, she is just not a match for the sophistication and class of Laura Bush.....in appearance and demeanor.
