Let's see if I can kick this off.

During the promo at the beginning of the show, where he was standing by live in West Virginia, and throughout the interview itself, Kerry tried hard to keep this huge "what me worry?" smile plastered on his face. He coupled it with numerous condescending head shakes that seemed to imply "these poor benighted fools who so miserably misunderstand the greatness that is John Kerry."

MSNBC is showing 1971 interview

spokesman for Kerrey, Bestor Cram, making the case, medals, ribbons, interchangeable. Says he was there when Kerrey threw away his medals.

Mike Bengem, Vietnam Vets Against Kerry founder, tells the MSNBC guy this ain't about Bush.

MSNBC says Kerry's answers do seem confusing, over the years. Cram keeps saying ribbons/medals = symbols. (The Script Du Jour) It's a political issue brought on by the Republicans.

Cram calls Bengem's comments "outrageous". and says the issue of medals will not be an issue in the fall.

The best part of this was the 197l video of Kerrey.

If ribbons and medals are interchangeable, then why is he upset that people may think he threw his ribbons only? Oh, I forgot. It's George Bush's fault!

Rush Limbaugh saying the Peter Jennings is ticked because Kerry lied during an interview last year, hence ABC's actions. I wish Rush could ask and talk about your question of how ABC and NY Times came about getting an NBC tape, the Nixon files etc.

Rush says the media is turning on Kerry.

I saw the very end of the MSNBC "debate". Saw the one guy on Kerry's side denounce the GOP (which is apparently the talking point of the day). The other gentleman quietly said he is not doing this at the behest of Republicans but it got drowned out a bit.

If they turn it's because they've gotten new marching orders, not because they've suddenly discovered principles. Or care about credibility, which has never bothered them in the past. Their definition of what's credible is what they say it is. Something else is at work.

I never did go to any of those demonstrations. A lot of friends at the time did. They would go to big demonstrations like the one in Washington DC, maybe the one you mentioned, was that 1972?-- I just couldn't bring myself to go.

There were 2 or 3 friends of mine who had been to Vietnam and they just didn't seem like bad people to me.

It amazes me to this day the way the media spun that war. We were duped, and luckily today we don't have to listen the those people and believe what they say.

I meant to post that earlier---has he ever named the names of these vets he says asked him to throw their medals? The medals he wasn't for throwing but did?

I saw in the transcript a perfect opening for Charlie to ask for the names, but listening to the audio on Rush I can see Kerry was speaking quickly and cutting Gibson off in his haste to decry this questioning of his esteemed self.

If so I bet they pulled the plug claiming Kerry re-injured on of his many 'war wounds'.
